Persil Washing Up Liquid
Advantages: Lasts ages, good value, leaves pots nice and clean.
Disadvantages: Artificial apple scent, slightly drying on the hands.
Something I need to buy regularly is washing up liquid, experience has taught me to buy the best washing up liquid I can afford as cheaper brands are truly a false economy.
My most recent brand of washing up liquid is Persil Apple Fizz, I brought a 625ml bottle for a £1 which I think is a good price. I would rather have one bottle of good quality washing up liquid than 2 bottles of cheaper stuff.
The bottle is a good shape and very easy to hold with wet hands. The clear bottle is great for showing off the vibrant green colour of the liquid and also great for seeing how much liquid you have left.
The label on the front of the bottle tells me that the bottle is 'bursting with crispy fragrance' and that 'anti-bacterial action is waiting to be released'. The label on the back of the bottle tells me to use sparingly, close the cap firmly after use and to rinse hands after using. For the anti-bacterial effect you need to use it neat on your cloths or sponges after washing up. I personally don't use the washing up liquid like this as it seems quite wasteful and I did not buy it for its anti-bacterial qualities.
I enjoy using this Persil washing up liquid; I only need a small squirt in a bowl of hot water to create a lovely layer of soft, frothy bubbles. The Apple Fizz scent is nice enough but smells very artificial; happily the scent does not linger on washed pots and soon fades from the kitchen once the pot water has been tipped down the sink.
The liquid itself is of a reasonable thickness, it is not as thick as Fairy washing up liquid, but is of a good consistency. The flip cap is nice a strong and is easy to open and close.
The cleaning qualities of Persil Apple Fizz are very good, pots are soon clean and grease free and my glasses and cutlery are left sparkling ready to be used again. The bubbles produced have quite a good life span and last the length of the pot washing session.
As only a small squirt is need to wash a sink full of pots a 625ml bottle will last me roughly a month, averaging out at 80-90 washes a bottle. In my opinion this is great value.
The washing up liquid is quite gentle on my hands and does not aggravate the sensitive skin on my hands, I do find my skin feels a little dry but as long as I make sure I rinse my hands after pot washing and then apply a small amount of moisturiser my skin is ok.
All things considered I think Persil Apple Fizz is a good washing up liquid, it lasts a good length of time and is something I am happy to alternate with Fairy washing up liquid depending what is on offer.
Thank you for reading.
