Sainsbury's Basics Cream Cleaner
Advantages: fab cleaner, really cheap, does just as good a job as name brand
Disadvantages: none in my books!
Cleaning is something I do try to maintain around the home although I don't always find I have the time to be as nit-picky as some but keeping everything spick and span is a priority of mine. I recently was doing a Shop around Sainsburys when I remembered I had no Cif and as I wandered down the aisle I saw this Sainsburys Basic cream cleaner for only 32p and I thought "how bad can it be?"
It comes in a very basic white plastic bottle with just a simple white label on the front with the usual orange basic design. It is slightly ridged down the side of the bottle making it easy to grip and hold when working away cleaning the bathroom. There isn't much description on the bottle apart from "cleans, no added promises". The cream cleaner itself is exactly that, it has a similar smell to Cif which is a slight lemon scent but is smells nice and is really subtle. It is not quite cream in colour but more an off white. The consistency is slightly thinner and runnier than normal cleaners so when squeezing out I did at first get a bit too eager and released too much!
The directions are simple - shake bottle, squeeze cream cleaner onto damp cloth or directly onto surface. Wipe over gently and rinse immediately. I tend to use this by just squeezing it straight around my bath or around the sink and with a damp cloth give a gentle wipe. I find that combined with some warm water and a cloth it works just as effectively at removing dirt and grime as any more expensive brand of cleaner I have ever had! It doesn't leave my bath/sink glistening or gleaming but it leaves them looking clean and smelling lovely which is really all I ask for! To be honest when I used Cif prior it didn't do anything amazing to my bath/sink that this doesn't do for a fraction of the price!
It should be noted it cannot be used for plastic surfaces, aluminium or glass and as usual should be kept well out of the reach of children!
Overall I think this is an absolutely fab product and can't recommend it enough! For 32p it more than gets the job done as good as any name brand cleaner I have bought in the past. Only a little is needed to go a long way so we have had this a good few weeks down and there is loads in the bottle left. Sure the packaging looks basic and garish but who cares?!
Summary: brilliant, budget cleaner from Sainsburys
