Advantages: handy

Disadvantages: expensive

I have to say that cleaning is quite possibly my most hated thing to do in the house, and when it comes to the bathroom I am forever looking for a product that makes cleaning it easier! I saw and advertisement on the television for the SC Johnson Duck Magic Scrubs and just knew that I had to try them!

I spotted them for sale at the local Tesco and there was a started pack for just £3.00, and in that pack there was the foam handle and four srub pads. In order to use the magic scrub you need to fix one of the pads onto the foam handle and you do this by simply sticking the pad on - it is kind of like velcro. As soon as you have done this you are ready to go!

The scrub pads are roughly 3" x 4" which is a good size for cleaning, any bigger and I think it would have been pretty tricky to hold and clean. I also find that one pad is sufficiently sized to clean my bathroom but then again my bathroom is relatively small.

Using the scrubs you don't need any extra cleaning products as they are already filled with some cleaning fluid which is released by wetting the pad and it becomes all foamy. The handle is great as this means that you don't need to get your hands in contact with the foam which is something I really don't like as the smell of them seem to last on my hands for ages even after endless washing! Also, the handle is pretty flexible and this makes cleaning easier, especially when you are trying to get into corners but I have found that the corners where the wall and bath meet are quite tricky to get into with these. I have cleaned the toilet with the scrub once, which was ok as there was no danger of my hand touching the toilet, but its not something I would do again, I prefer to stick to cleaning with bleach and brush!

I have found these pads can cope with most bathroom mess - by mess I mean toothpaste, soap etc, but it did take a little extra scrubbing. Personally I have found them to be great for cleaning my tiles so this is the main thing I use them on now, rather than my bath or sink as I don't think that the cleaning foam is as good as other products I have been using.

The foam handle isn't really that great quality, it loses the stickiness really quickly which I think is quite poor when it is meant to last for a minimum of four pads!

The packaging of the magic scrubs is a large plastic tub which contains the handle and pads, and while I am told you can get refills I personally haven't seen them, but then again I haven't looked as it isn't something I would buy again. The front of the packaging has a picture of the white duck with DUCK written across it, and in large white letters "Magic scrubs" and a picture of the scrub attached to the handle.

While I do think this is a good item to have, I don't think they are amazing and wouldn't necessarily recommend anyone to buy them specially unless you can get them on offer as I think for what they are they are quite expensive really. However, I have since seen these for sale in my local pound shop so if you see them in one of those shops it may be worth picking them up and giving them a try!

I think I will give these three out of five stars as they are ok but could be much better really.

Thank you for reading my review :)
