      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Very good at the job it does.

Oust is a cleaning and disinfectant made by the Johnson, A Family Company. It states on the canister that it eliminates tough odors, and it holds true to its name ninety five percent of the time I would agree with it, I feel it masks and destroys the source of the smell very efficiently.
My only gripe with the Oust is that when sprayed it leaves a very heavy wet spray over the surface that it was sprayed over and sometimes it can take ages evaporate which is odd for a disinfectant aerosol. However it is a small gripe in the overall work of the product.
With the container being cylindrical in nature like most other cleaning products means that it makes it easier to store with other cleaning products. The actual design of the canister is appealing and with the design being white it gives off a sense of cleanliness which is a good correspondence for the potential buyers.

My overall view of the product is that the product works and it is very good at the job it does.

      Okay

Air freshener is something I have found myself buying more and more of recently. My cat, Duke seems to be spending more and more time toiletting where he shouldnt be and this is obviously not a very pleasant problem to have to deal with!

When shopping in Tesco with my Mum the other day I mentioned I needed some air freshener. She immediately suggested I tried this one because she found it to work really well. As it was on offer for just £1 I bought it. I do believe other scents are available but the one I got was the version shown above which is called Garden Fresh.

Oust is supposed to be different from other air fresheners because it is supposed to remove smells rather than simply mask them. This therefore suggests that the smells will be removed permanantly rather than just temporarily covered.

To use the air freshener you simply press down the top of the can and spray the freshener where you want it. Initially I found the pump to work really well and it dispensed a good amount of product. However, about half way into using the bottle the pump began to slow down and it felt like there wasnt much of the product left even though I knew there was. Therefore it took longer to get a good amount of the product out of the tin.

The product comes out in a fine mist so it is easy to make sure you get the amount you want. The scent is garden fresh. It has a fresh and clean smell to it with a hint of trees and plants. I'm not overly keen on the scent to be entirely honest but it is ok.

I found I had to use a lot more of the spray than I thought I would in order to cover up bad odours. In addition to this, even when covered I needed to use more of the spray later on as it just didnt last. Since using this spray I have bought an Airwick version and I have been using this and finding it to be much more effective.

Overall I think this spray is ok. I would buy it again but not for masking very bad smells as it simply doesnt cover them for long enough, However, it is a good quality air freshener and it does mask less obvious smells.

Does what it says on the tin!

This may put me in the minority, but I'm not a fan of air fresheners at all. Let's face it, some things smell, by definition - ok, ok, I know - no need for details! And I'd much rather open a window and shut a door than have any smell (not just *that* one!) masked by a strong fragrance. The only thing that achieves is to make me associate the fragrance with the smell, and then I start to dislike that fragrance too!

Anyway, despite my personal preferences I do have a tin of this air freshener in my bathroom because I appreciate that it's necessary to give any visitors the option to spray. When this was launched I thought it was the kind of thing that would suit me - with the emphasis on removing the smells rather than masking them, and since then it's been the only spray "air freshener" I've ever purchased.

The variety I buy is the "Outdoor scent" which has a green lid, and images of a beautiful fresh oudoor scene.

The spray is activated by pressing the green plastic section at the top - the tin doesn't have a lid that you remove - the spray is then emitted in an upwards direction from the tube. A press of a couple of seconds does the job.

As an aerosol, the tin has the usual warnings such as - keep out of the reach of children, protect from sunlight, do not expose to temperatures exceeding 50°C, keep away from sources of ignition etc and that solvent abuse can kill instantly. There are further warnings about what to do in case of contact with eyes and to avoid inhalation of the "spray mist".

I have to say that as an "air freshener", this product really does work - it claims to capture the odours and eliminate them, and it genuinely seems to freshen the air, rather than make it smell of something else. I certainly couldn't put into words a description of the smell it gives off, and again, for me that represents a good thing. If I had to come up with a word, the only one I could come up with would be "fresh" - so that has to be job-done!

        Disadvantages

A great product that is fast at getting rid of those odours

A few weeks ago, one of my pupils in my class wasn't feeling too well and ended up vomiting all over their table and chair, with too little time to go to the bathroom. Unfortunately, despite me opening the windows in my classroom as much as possible, this didn't get rid of that terrible, stomach churning smell of vomit, and of course, the other children were completely put off and unsettled due to the bad aroma. Thankfully a cleaner arrived in my room with a bottle of this Oust to leave for me to try.

Oust, is a air freshener that I had heard of before, probably from TV advertisments, but it wasn't on that I had previously bought myself for my own home. The Oust that I used as an air sanitiser with the Clean Scent and it had a blue coloured lid. It prides itself on actually dealing with the odour rather tham simply masking it like other air fresheners do, and then the smell actually returns. According to the information that is on the can, this product works by attaching itself to odour causing bacteria and killing them, thus dealing effectively with the smell. It claims to be ideal for odours created by dirty laundry, pets and mildew.

A can of this air sanitiser costs between £1.50 and £2 and is available in most supermarkets or chemists.

This product claims not to leave a lingering scent, which is good because sometimes other air fresheners can end up choking you with their strong scent.

Once I got given this product, I immediately sprayed all around the area where the child has been sick and within a couple of seconds the awful vomit smell had gone and the air smelt clean and normal again with not even a hint of the bad odour - so much so I even shut my windows not long after because the weather was bad, but more importantly if it hadn't been for this spray getting rid of the odour, I couldn'[t possibly have shut my windows all day as the smell was so bad. The great thing as well was that the odour never returned, so it must have done what it claims and actually dealt with the odour and not simply masked it.

So impressed was I with this product, that I went out and bought one for my own home and have now used it quite a lot usually in bathrooms with those lingering odours, and it has always worked very very quickly to tackle the odour and ensure it doesn't return. All in all a great product, and one that I am glad I was introduced to, albeit it in not a very nice way!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Perfect for odour elimination but not if you simply want to fragrance a room.

        Why I Bought it.

I run a small retail business, small being the operative word, my shop is in the heart of a bustling town and in finer weather a trick to draw the customers is to have the door open, welcoming people in. A busy road outside and a curry house and fish and chips shops nearby mean exhaust fumes and cooking smells can sometimes linger, not to mention the odd, rather smelly customer and sometimes those that linger outside finishing their cigarettes before coming in, allowing the cigarette fumes to blow in the doorway. I always have air freshener at the ready, but these simply mask the smell and tend to wear off rather quickly, so I was looking for a more efficient solution.

Browsing in our local 99p shop, I noticed the Oust aerosols, having heard good things about them I decided to purchase one. They are available in several different scents, I bought the 'Outdoor scent', at just 99p for the 300ml can it was definitely worth a shot!

        Does it Work?

In short Yes! Unlike normal air fresheners which simply mask smells, this one claims to eliminate odours on contact and it really does. You simply shake and aim the canister towards the centre of the well ventilated room, press the simple trigger mechanism in the cap and 'hey presto', a fine mist permeates the odours and eliminates them in seconds. The mist quickly disperses leaving behind a light, woody, fresh and clean scent, however, this scent fades within about 15 minutes, so do not expect a lingering fragrance afterwards.

The initial scent, described as outdoors, does smell slightly synthetic, chemically, but obviously this isn't an issue as it does not last, instead it leaves behind a clean odour free room. I can only compare this to Neutradol, and think this does have the slight edge as it does the same thing but Neutradol leaves a rather nasty lingering chemical scent for far too long.

        The Blurb

This is a simple canister, no frills, but brightly coloured lids to stand out on the shelf, this one was green, but I don't really care what it looks like so long as it works and I can find it quickly on the shelf. A simple trigger mechanism inbuilt into the lid means it is always ready to use, no fiddly removing lids etc.

As with most aerosols this is highly flammable, so normal sensible precautions apply there. It is dangerous to Birds and can aggravate allergies, you should always use it in a well ventilated area and it is not advisable to spray onto fabrics.

Personally I will only be using this at the shop as being a non smoking family and, despite having two cats, our home never really seems to suffer any unwelcome odours at all and we do have tropical fish, a lot of aerosols are dangerous to fish, although Oust does not indicate this I would not take the chance. I tend to use candles and diffusers to simply fragrance the house as and when I desire.

This is made by Johnson so is a quality product in my eyes and was actually voted product of the year in 2006. Available from most Supermarkets, Wilkinsons, Poundland and 99p shops. Prices do range from 99p to £2.00 so worth looking around for the bargains.

        Scents available in the range:

        Outdoor
        Garden
        Citrus.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

5/5 a brilliant odour eliminator with a fresh scent.

We get through loads of air fresheners in our house; we like our home smelling nice and fresh and as my partner is a smoker the use of air fresheners along with cleaning regularly is essential for us. We've tried many different air fresheners since we moved in but a brand we've really settled on is Oust and the one I'm reviewing now is the Outdoor scent. Oust Outdoor costs up to £2 in the supermarkets, we usually just stock up from B&M though as they have them for just 99p each which is a good saving especially as we use a lot.

Oust Outdoor comes in a 300ml; tall aerosol can with a brightly coloured pink top. The branding is very obvious and the cans really do stand out as the branding is quite well known and the colours are bright and fresh. Obviously as the spray comes in a pressurised container it shouldn't be exposed to too much sunlight, exposed to high temperatures and the can shouldn't be pierced.

Oust Outdoor promises to eliminate odours and not just mask them as some others do. The formula is said to neutralise bad odour molecules in the air including those from pets and smoking and leave your home smelling fresh and clean.

To use you simply push the button down on the top of the can which sprays the freshener. It's suggested that for best results the air freshener should be directed into the centre of the room but I tend to just spray it all over for a few seconds at a time. The smell is instantly very fresh and clean and the Outdoor scent comes through with a really fresh scent instantly added to the room and gives a very summery feel.

The scent seems to stick around for quite a while but after the initial slightly summery scent has gone just a nice fresh and clean smell remains. It does definitely get rid of any odours including the smells from my partner's smoking which is very hard to get rid of normally and is usually temporarily covered up by other air fresheners. The original scent doesn't linger for that long which is a little disappointing. Having said this though the room is left fresh afterwards as the initial bad smell is eliminated.

Although it's not my favourite from the Oust range, Outdoor is definitely a lovely scent and gets rid of odours rather than just covering them up. Oust can be picked up for a reasonable price and you don't need to use a large amount of the spray to effectively eliminate odours. This lovely fresh, outdoor scent is perfect for the summer months and as it eliminates odours provides long lasting freshness.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A great odour neutralising spray that works

What would I do without Oust?

I honestly never ever felt that I would become passionate about a air freshener...much less write a review about it! I like the aerosol sprays which are available in three fragrances - Outdoor, Garden Fresh, Citrus Scents.

Oust claims that it's range of sprays neutralise bad smells and in particular I was interested in the fact that it could eliminate pet smells and musty smells. Unfortunately I have a very naughty kitten, and this naughty kitten despite being litter trained often forgot where his toilet was. Without being too graphic it meant bad smells in places where I didn't want them! Oust worked like a treat and eliminated the odour to the point where you wouldn't know the bad little kitty had even been there. Coupled with my old victorian house with a bit of an issue with damp this spray always keeps the musty rooms smelling fresh...at least until I can afford to fix the damp problem!

Many manufacturers make claims about their air fresheners and how they neutralise smells and so often i'm left feeling annoyed that it never works how I want it to. Oust was one air freshener that I will keep re-purchasing however because it really does work.

Oh and girls, I just need to mention that you can also 'Oust' bad boyfriend smells!

          Advantages

Get rid of the pongs in your home!

I have a confession to make that will shock many faithful users of this site. I have never, no never, Yankee Candled. I can hear the gasps from here!. Neither have I Airwicked nor Ambipured or Ambi airiated (made that word up). Poor deprived woman, why should this be?" I shall tell you. Living on boats that are normally stuffed full of miles of electric cables to feed pumps, appliances, air con, navigation equipment and all the other stuff, (and there is a lot,) that you need to run a large Gin Palace, your nose becomes an early warning system. The words "I can smell something and it smells hot" strikes fear into the heart of Capt Splishsplash and has averted quite a few incidents over the years . Bearing this in mind we tend not to mask smells with "Tropical Rain Burst" or Cinnamon Reindeer Frolic" so now that we have partially moved ashore I am fighting my instincts and have dipped my toe into the world of home fragrances starting with the lovely fresh smell of Fresh Citrus Oust which we bought about 6months ago from our local Spanish supermarket.

To Oust or not to Oust

Oust is an areosol air freshner made by Johnsons and this "flavour" comes in a tall, jolly yellow topped cannister with a design of lemon groves surrounding the top of the can and Oust written clearly on the front of the can in large letters .It holds 300ml of lovely lemon, citrus fresh spray and claims to actually eliminate bad odours instead of just masking them. How the little particles in the can do this I do not know but they seem to latch on to the bad smells and neutralise them. The bright yellow top has an indent of about 45degrees which you press to release a vertical burst of the freshner from the head of the cylinder as opposed to most fly sprays type cans which have a 90degree nozzle. I actually have to use my thumb to press the spray release and genaerally just give a quick 1sec burst. On the back of the can are the normal warnings for this type of product, keep out of the sun and heat and remember that it is extremly flammable. Don't inhale or use around a naked flame and use in well ventilated places. Rather a lot of warnings actually!

          When do I Oust?

We have a very lovely Golden Retriever who is the dog version of Marilyn Monroe except I bet Marilyn didn't honk when she got wet. I do not like to inflict this smell on guests and a quick burst seems to dispell that smell very well. I also use it if we have had fish for our evening meal as, at this time of year all the windows are closed at night and Oust stops the smell pervading its way all through the flat. It also gets rid of whiffy drain and bathroom smell effectively and I feel more confident that the flat smell pleasant when guests arrive if I have had a quick Oust!

          My Opinion.

It suits our needs very well as a quick method of getting rid of an unpleasant smell. Iwouldn't say the citrus scent lasts very long but it does do what it claims to do on the can. The citrus scent is very fresh and pleasant without being overpowering and I would recommend it as an efficient , pleasant way of Ousting your household smells.

I paid around 1.60pounds for my can and I will continue to buy it when my present can runs out. My only concern is that it was not eco friendly but I see on the can that it does not contain CFC gases so 5 stars from me for a happy smell free home.

Thanks for reading my review which may also be posted on Ciao under splishsplash.

The cannister is recyclable but please dispose of it with care.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

Not one I'll be buying again sadly.

A can of odour eliminating spray is usually in my trolley, and I generally buy whatever is the best price at the time (and I do like to try different ones). This is how I came to buy Oust odour eliminator in citrus scent. Strangely, considering Oust was one of the first widely advertised to eliminate rather than mask odours as far as I am aware, I had never tried it before (with the exception of the Glade REfresh I love, which has 'Oust technology'). I got it in Semi Chem for the princely sum of £1, which is what I usually try to pay for these sprays since there's always one to be had for around that price.

This comes in a regular 300ml aerosol can, with the dispensing nozzle built in to the yellow lid. The button here is at an angle so your finger rests comfortably on it while in use. The front of the can is mostly taken up with product info in different languages but there is a picture along the top of a lemon grove on a sunny day. The back of the can displays all the usual information such as directions, ingredients and safety considerations, in various languages. You are directed to simply aim at the centre of a room and spray, and informed that this is not designed to be used on fabrics.

The product itself is dispensed as a very dry, thick spray (from the top of the lid) that you can see dispersing through the room. You really don't need to use a huge amount of this at one time as it does spread really well. I really like that you can actually see the spray moving through the room, it lets you see it reaching (or not) whatever areas you want it to get to. The scent is very fresh and it does have hints of citrus, but there is no tang to it. It's softer, if that's the right way to describe it, almost a powdery floral rather than sharp citrus. I prefer zingy citrus fragrances as they are 'cleaner'. It is a very pleasant smell though, just not quite what I expected or hoped for!

It does do a good job of making the place smell nice and fresh, but I find the fragrance and the odour eliminating effects do disappear quite quickly. The best example I can give, is from a little while back; we had Dogface at the beach, so of course he came home wet. While I am actually a bit partial to the smell of [a clean, well kept] wet dog, I don't want the living room to smell of it as it gets musty in a room if it's not addressed. After he had been dried off and had a snooze in the living room, I tidied up and had a spray of this (while he was out the room of course) but sadly a short while later the smell of wet dog was apparent again.

I prefer a wetter spray, as they seem to hang around better, clinging to carpets etc as they dry. I know this states that it's not meant to be used directly on fabrics, but I do spray it in the vicinity of the sofa and curtains, and while it hasn't caused any problems it doesn't really do that much either; it doesn't rest on the fabrics, appearing to simply roll off into the air instead. Another reason I prefer wetter sprays, as your room will smell stale if the soft furnishings within it have smells clinging to them, even if the air itself has been freshened.

So for those reasons, this is not one I will buy again, and I wouldn't generally recommend it. It does work fine for a quick blast before visitors though, but I have used much better sprays which can be had for the same price. The scent is nice, it's easy to use and the good price makes it excellent value in terms of how long it lasts, but it just doesn't work for me. And so, I'm Ou(s)t!

              Oust

Toilet smells, no one likes them but admit it, everybody makes them from time to time. For these little instances I have a can of Oust Odour Eliminator in my downstairs guest bathroom. I do not make Oust part of my everyday bathroom cleaning regime because I do not particularly like the smell but for times when you have guests and a lot of people using the toilet at any one time I like to have a spray that either they or I can use in between visits.

Oust is an odour eliminator and so it is meant to eliminate odours and not just cover them up with a strong perfume smell. According to their packaging it has a special formula which neutralises bad odour molecules in the air such as pet, bathroom, smoke and musty/mildew odours and it leaves your home smelling clean and fresh. There are a number of different fragrances that you can purchase but I like the clean scent better than the others. This scent is not as flowery or perfumey as the others. It just has more of a clean scent, like a powdery fresh scent and in my opinion in the closest scent you can get to normal smell than the other varieties.

The can comes with a spray at the top so all you do is press on the top of the can and the scent will spray out. I find you really only need one or two little sprays, any more and it is overpowering. I do however, find this air freshener a bit overpowering by just using a little bit. As it is an aerosol I find the spray is the type that can really get into your lungs and as I have asthma this is not the best thing so if I do spray this I do it as soon as I am leaving the bathroom and then close the door behind me to give it time to work but also time to disipate throughout the air.

Upon returning to the scene of the crime I generally find that this spray has worked well and usually taken away the nasty niffs without being too obvious that you sprayed something to cover up your bathroom visit.

Oust is made by SC Johnson and a 300ml can costs £2.25

                good for pets and smokers

I bought this product as it was only a £1 in Sainsburys, and I had never tried it before. Personally Im a big fan of just opening a window to get the fresh air smell, but as I live in a rented house with other people I thought it may be becomming necessary.

It comes in a white and blue bottle, with an easy press down spray attachment at the top. It claims to eliminate odours not just cover them up, I sprayed it around the kitchen and bathroom, and they did smell a lot better. The smell however did return after a few hours, and I had to re spray. I think what really needs to happen is more cleaning in my house.

The product does smell nice, and it is fresh, but I still think its a bit of a waste of money when in the toilet I have a perfectly good sainsburys basic air freshener which does a great job. I think if your a smoker and you smoke indoors then this product will probably be a better investment. Or if you have pets and need to use it regularly.

It does eliminate smells but not strong smells and after I have finished this bottle (which is lasting a long time) I wont be buying it again.

A product that keeps its promise to get rid of bad odours

                **********Personal Account**********

I am always wanting the house to smell new and fresh all the time just incase we get any unexpected family members turning up. I thought I would try this product as the advert looked convincing and I certainly wasn't disappointed. This product is great to cover up all bad smells that you may find in your home. It is good to get rid of pet smells, greasy food smells, cigarrettes smell and many more. I think that the smell of oust isnt too bad buut there is room for improvement. However, dont use too much as the smell becomes over powering and isn't very good for the environment. Do not use in vast amounts as it will be obvious that you are trying to hide certain scents. Some may think that it doesnt work but as we have used this product for a number of years it is useful and is definately worth the money.

                *********Appearance***********

The information on the can is simple which makes it look more appealing to the consumers. The product doesn't cost to much and is great value for money as it definitely does the job that it is intended to do so. The lid is green to show freshness and environmentally friendly product. The image on the can is of a picturesque countryside this is to show that the product leaves your home smelling fresh and natural which it certainly does. It is a simple design to show a simple product that does the job properly.

Oust won product of the year in 2006 which gives the buyers an extra boost of confidence that it is a great product.

                **********Advantages & Disadvantages***********

Advantages: Leaves a nice smell, does more than just mask the smell, can buy from a large number of stores, cheap, well designed can.

Disadvantages : smell can be over powering, can get fed up with smelling the same oust smell.

                **********Summary***********

This product is a good value one and definitely does keep there promises of getting rid of bad odours.

                  Advantages

                  Disadvantages

A good way of masking odours in the home

Oust is something that I'd heard of but never used before coming to Spain, usually opting for opening a window or simply dealing with the cause of a smell instead of using a spray to cover it up. Here in Spain, however, I often eat highly spiced foods in my room and since there's no heating (it's still about 20 degrees in January so there's no real need for it during the day) I don't like to keep the balcony door open for too long to let the smell of cumin other spices escape as the heat from the day goes with it, and so decided to invest in some Oust. Since Oust was a brand that I recognised from the UK (although it is actually from a Belgian company, I believe) I thought it would be the best choice out of the air fresheners available, and the fact that something is exported to many countries is often a sign of it being high quality.

My canister of Oust is scented as what translates as 'Waterfall Freshness', which after doing a bit of research online, I believe corresponds to what is called 'Outdoor Fresh' in the UK. Either way, I couldn't really say that it smells particularly like a waterfall as I'm not really sure what (if anything) they 're supposed to smell of. The fragrance is, however, quite outdoory and fresh though doesn't smell of anything that I can put my finger on, and so I've grown to associate its scent purely with my room here in Spain. In any case, it is a pleasant smell and is something that I'm happy to linger in the air in my bedroom when I'm sick of smelling curry for hours after I've eaten it.

Despite curry and spices (the main thing that I cook, as, if I'm honest, I don't really know how to cook anything else) having quite a lingering and pungent smell I have to say that Oust does very well at masking it or covering it entirely once I've sprayed it around my room. It also did quite a good job the one time that I drank far too much (the alcohol is so cheap and plentiful here that it is bound to happen once in a while) and threw up, leaving an afterthought of vomit in the air for a few hours even though everything in the room was clean.

In general I would say that Oust does a very good job of covering up any smells and odours in my room that I don't want, especially those from food. As an aerosol it's probably not great environmentally, but it's easy to use and spray the scent around the room. My 300ml canister is still going strong after a couple of months use and I would say that at £1.80-£1.95 (which it is on mysupermarket at the various supermarkets) it's good value for money. I do, however, only use it every few days or so, so if you use it on a more regular basis you may find it running out much more quickly than mine has, but you're unlikely to need more than one a fortnight unless you're usually it constantly, so I maintain that it's a fair bargain.

                    Advantages

                    Disadvantages

A great smelling product from Oust to eliminate those odours

I love being able to fragrance my home with beautifully scented products and whilst I generally tend to opt for plug-ins and candles I regularly use air fresheners for those occasions when I need to quickly get rid of those offensive pongs and no, I'm not referring to hubby's feet!

I simply cannot bear the smell in the house after cooking, particularly following Sunday lunch where we have perhaps eaten cabbage and sprouts! Unfortunately, I'm too impatient to wait for their odours to naturally disappear, so will always use a quick burst of spray. The product I am reviewing today is Oust, which is manufactured by SC Johnson.

The aerosol I own is the citrus scent fragrance, which is contained within a 300ml aerosol can with a bright yellow lid. The familiar Oust logo is situated in the centre of the can and located above is an image of a meadow of lemon trees. The product is quite eye-catching and in my opinion conjures up thoughts of fresh and clean, which is clearly a good marketing ploy as it ended up in my shopping trolley!

Another reason I chose this brand is that we are advised that it eliminates odours without just masking. I'm sure you will agree with me when I say that there is nothing worse than the horrible stench of sprouts or cabbage reappearing after you've digested your food, particularly when you're feeling a little worse for wear as you've eaten far too much!

A positive with this brand is that there are no lids, which I often find detach themselves and get lost in the back of the cupboard. The spray is situated within the upper section and all you need to do is press down hard to enable a rather forceful spurt to dispense upwards. Don't make the same mistake as I did and be under the illusion that the spray will dispense from the front of the can. Unfortunately, I didn't check and ended up spraying myself in the eyes and face! Don't forget - it dispenses upwards!

The fragrance is considerably refreshing and whilst it is not as natural smelling as I would have expected, I cannot say that it smelled unpleasant or artificial. It has a gorgeous lemon aroma that definitely eradicates those nasty smells. When my pussycat, Maizie was alive I frequently had to use this around her litter tray, as whilst she was very dainty and cute she wasn't half whiffy at times!

I cannot say that the fresh lemon aroma lingers for long as I can only generally detect it for about thirty minutes. However, it most definitely does rid you of those horrible pongs! I would advise that you should spray this away from wooden tables and expensive items, particularly as the forceful spray dispenses upwards and subsequently lands on something. I tend to hold the aerosol as high as I can reach and ensure that there is nothing below.

On the rear of the can we are advised that this product is effective due to the special formula where we are able to neutralise odours such as pets, bathroom, smoke and musty/mildew odours. Whilst no-one smokes in our home it is useful for giving our rooms a quick freshen, particularly if the doors have been closed all day when we've been out.

As this is a pressurised container we are provided with the usual warning information, such as do not smoke whilst using, do not pierce or burn and do not leave in direct sunlight. Once empty, the container can be recycled.

Would I recommend this? Yes, most definitely, particularly as it is very efficient and effective and really does live up to its' claims. If you are interested in purchasing Oust I would advise that as of September 2010 you can buy it from Tesco for £1.65. There are various fragrances in the range, such as the citrus scent, which I have today reviewed, Garden Fresh, Outdoor Fresh and Spring Water. Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the other fragrances, as I have always opted for the citrus.

As this is such an effective and pleasantly fragranced product it receives 5 out of 5 dooyoo stars from me.

I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading.

                      Advantages

                      Disadvantages

                      Recommended.

The Oust claim is that is "neutralizes odour molecules in the air" and as such it aims to get rid of bad smells but not only by masking them as most air fresheners do. As I live in a house with three children, two dogs, one cat, and my partner who smokes ("only ocassionally" my partner insists!), then its an environment where Oust can really get tested to the extreme!

Oust comes in a typical aerosol tin with a depress nozzle to expel the fragranced gas into the atmosphere. The depress button depresses easily and the fragrance seems to be emitted in a way which allows for a fine and wide-range dispersal of the gas. Because of the design of the depress nozzle, you do not get any of the solution on your fingers like I can sometimes with other types of aerosol dispersal systems.

I tend to use Oust once a day when I am rushing around doing the housework. Each room gets a generous spraying. I find the fragrance to be quite light and fresh, and although there is a slightly floral fragrance (I find all of them smell very similar regardless of the fragrance type!!), it is certainly not over-powering like some aerosol sprays can be.

While the fragrance only persists for a very short time, I do find that when using the Oust spray, other over-powering smells in my house are kept to a minimum. For example, with cigarette smoke, as a non-smoker who is very sensitive to the smell of cigarette smoke, I wouldn't say that it completely eliminates the odour, but it does certainly significantly diminish the strength and pervasiveness of it.

A bottle of Oust lasts me about 2 weeks - although I should add that I do have a large house and so this seems a decent amount enough time for me. A 300 ml can costs £1.69.

Overall, I recommend Oust for eliminating odours such as cigarette smoke and pets. It does work!!
