“ Brand: SC Johnson / Type: Stain Remover / Category: Cleaning & Disinfectant „
We have been using Shout stain remover in our house now for years, amongst many other types of laundry products. We do go back to this time and time again as it is really very good and great value for money. One 500ml container costs around £1.50 or cheaper, depending on where you can manage to buy it. It comes in a white sturdy plastic bottle with on / off switch and trigger spray format and the spray is very easy to direct exactly where you want it to go to on the fabric.
The idea is simple in my personal opinion - just spray it onto the stain and I leave it for a few minutes then throw it into the machine and just wash as normal. In most cases the stain will actually come out first time you use it but in more stubborn cases you may have to have more than one go.
It advises this to be used in a well ventilated area but personally we have never had any problems with powerful smells. I also personally feel it is very gentle on the skin (or mine, at least) but the instructions advise you to wash your hands after use as it can be an irritant.
You should also be careful to make sure you do not allow the stain remover to dry on the clothes and make sure you wash them in your normal way soon after it has been treated and not to wait.
The results of this liquid are really very impressive in my view, and a little does go a long way and you don't need that much for great results.

We have just returned from holiday and after two weeks away I had some seriously stained washing to do I therefore decided to Purchase some Shout spray as recommended by my Mother-in-Law and after 7 Children I felt she would count as a washing expert!
Cost & Packaging
I purchased my bottle of shout from Sainsbury's at £1.68 this was for a 500ml bottle which has a trigger spray (you can get refill bottles as well so do not throw the trigger away)
Simply shake the bottle and turn and spray the stain then leave to work for one minute then wash as usual.
The bottle also states that you should use while marks and stains are still fresh!
I was not particularly positive on the success of shout as the marks and stains were old and dried and included sand staining, sun tan lotion, grease , chocolate Bolognese sauce, chocolate, blood and marks I wouldn't like to guess at!
I thought that the tomatoes would be impossible to shift and that many items were too far gone to redeem but no the spray was fantastic.
My Daughters white trousers with blood stained knees are whiter than they have been for ages and as for Strawberry juice haha its all gone and on a 40 wash!
This is the best stain removing product I have ever used and is defiantly some thing I will continue buying as so far no stain is too difficult and it is a lot cheaper than other products that do not work as well.
I would say this is a parenting must and defiantly one of the best tips my Mother-in-law has given me only thing better would be if she did the washing and ironing for me!
With the assistance of two children and one husband, the majority of items in my laundry basket require assistance with stain removal prior to going into the wash.
My mum always used Shout and although I've tried other stain removal products, Shout has got to be my favourite too.
According to SC Johnson & Family, Shout is formulated with powerful stain fighting ingredients and enzymes to quickly penetrate, break up and remove tough stains.
Shout is contained in a white plastic bottle with a trigger action nozzle dispenser. To help ensure no accidents you have to twist the nozzle from 'off' to 'on' prior to use, this is very easy and a great safeguard to have in place especially when you may have inquisitive little ones.
I pre-treat the majority of stained items as I'm loading the washing machine. I have found Shout useful in removing everyday stains like biro, grass, chocolate, orange juice as well as dirty cuffs and collars after a long day in the office. The easy to use trigger ensures that I target the area where the stain is. I apply the Shout, rub the stained area and depending on how deep the stain is, I tend to apply another spray of Shout and then place the item in the washing machine. If I feel that the initial use of Shout, followed by the rub and the further application of Shout hasn't made any difference I will add a little washing up liquid to the stained area followed by another squirt of Shout and then place the item into the washing machine; however, I only tend to have to do this on heavily stained items. Also, when I'm nearing the end of the bottle I tend to pour what's left into my new bottle to help ensure no wastage and to gain maximum squirting power.
Although the price of Shout has increased over the last few months, you can still pick it up pretty cheaply at Home Bargains if you have one near you.
I would definitely recommend Shout to help with the laundry ! Having tried various other treatments, some home made and some a lot more expensive, I have found Shout to be both cost effective and effective at removing stains. Although Shout doesn't remove every stain, it really does do an excellent job and on really hard, difficult to move stains I have found that they have come out in the second wash.
After reviewing vanish oxi action spray I realised it was time to try and find a cheaper alternative that would work well on the grime produced daily by my husband and son on their white shirts!
I remember my mum always used to use Shout so I added it to my online shop for Saturday.
Shout is made by SC Johnson it is a very resonable price at £1.38 for a 500ml bottle. It has a white label with Shout in big yellow writing.
To use this you twist the nozzle to the on position and shake. Then you spray liberally onto the stain, leave for about a minute and wash as normal This is safe to use on most fabrics apart from silk, very delicate fabrics and flame proofed materials.
I wasn't expecting much for the price but when my whites wash had finished I am pleased to say the grime stains had vanished!
The information on the bottle states it is not suitable for impossible stains such as paint and rust but the more expensive vanish does not remove these for me either so as it is cheaper and appears to do an equally good job for far less money, this is what I will be swapping to now.
I've been using this for about five months now. It is slightly cheaper in supermarkets than Febreze which I used to use, but I have found it(pocket size 100ml) in my favourite 99p shop even cheaper@ two for 99p,so keep a look out for it. It has virtually the same smell as febreze and does the same job, i.e. eliminating odours from fabrics.Spray on to the smelly item and the odour will be gone when it dries, without leaving a stain behind. I've used it on my curtains the dog bed, vertical blinds, carpets, rugs, my He-man's trainers, the car seats and the three piece suite. On the bottle it says not to be used on leather, silk or non-clourfast fabrics so take note you have been warned! It's very effective. I've used it very successfully to get rid of cooking oil smells after using my deep fat fryer, after cooking smoked fish or any spicy food, stale tobacco smells, after peeling onions,on and around the dog bed. It doesn't seem to irritate the skin in any way which a bonus especially if you have very sensitive skin.(I have got it on my hands accidently once or twice)Being made by Johnson Wax you know they are a reputable company and that you can have complete confidence in their products. So search around your local pound shops grab a bargain and SHOUT IT OUT! The price I am quoting is how much I pay in my local village shop as I've yet to see it in any supermarkets I have visited, despite the fact that there are other Shout products on the shelves.
