Springforce Kitchen Towel
Advantages: Cheap, strong and absorbent
Disadvantages: None for me
If you are a regular reader of my reviews, you will know that I tend to do my weekly shopping in Tesco's unless I fancy a change and I try to use Tesco's own branded products where possible in order to try and save money and one item I always purchase cheaply is kitchen roll.
I tend to purchase either whatever is cheapest or look for a great offer and the cheapest at the moment is the Springforce Kitchen Roll. You tend to find that the Tesco Value range is the cheapest in Tesco's but when it comes to kitchen roll, their Discount Brands range comes out cheaper.
In a pack you get two decent sized kitchen rolls and the pack at present will set you back £1.19 which comes out 6p cheaper than the Tesco Value 2 roll pack which is £1.25 and as Tesco's themselves say - every little helps so I go for the cheaper pack.
You can't fail to recognise this pack on the shelves as the Springforce packaging as it is really bright and vibrant, and therefore eye-catching and it does look far more appealing than the Tesco Value range pack.
The rolls themselves are white and come wrapped around a recyclable cardboard tube as standard. The tissue is 3ply and has a really nice thickness to it which is unusual for such a cheap brand. The tissue also has little pockets covering the entire tissue which aids absorbency.
When living with an 8 year old boy, 3 teenage boys, my partner and a dog, it didn't take long for the kitchen roll to be needed and it came to the rescue when my son knocked his drink over in the kitchen. I unrolled a couple of sheets of kitchen roll and detached it via the perforations at the end of each sheet. I doubled the sheets over just because this is what I tend to do and wiped the sprawling mess up. I was really impressed with the absorbency of the tissue. Yes, it had been doubled up but these two sheets managed to absorb the whole drink without the tissues disintegrating upon impact of the liquid and all I needed to finish was a quick wipe over the surface with a spray cleaner and cloth just to get rid of any stickiness and you wouldn't have known there had been a spillage in the first place.
This kitchen roll made the whole mopping up process a doddle and I didn't end up using rucks of tissue in order to clean the mess up. The rolls themselves don't contain a huge amount of tissue but as you only need a little each time you use it, the pack is still great value for money and the cheapest that I have found too.
This kitchen roll has now become my number one kitchen roll brand. I would purchase other brands if they had a great offer on as my main incentive when purchasing kitchen roll is saving money as I believe that most of them are quite similar in quality so I just get whatever is cheaper. So, unless there is a cheaper one on offer at the time, this is now my usual kitchen roll as it is cheap and does the job very well indeed. Recommended.
Summary: A great kitchen roll from the Discount Brands range
