“ Brand: Tesco / Type: All Purpose Cleaner / Subcategory: Cleaning Spray / Category: Cleaning & Disinfectant „
Tesco make an excellent antibacterial cleaner. The cleaner costs around 90p for 500ml. The cleaner is in a white plastic bottle and the packaging is fairly simple, what you would expect really from this range.
The cleaner has a spray trigger nozzle and you just spray onto the surface you wish to clean or alternatively spray directly onto your cloth and take it from there.
When it first comes out it leaves a little foamy patch, bu this is just the force of the liquid jutting out of the bottle and it soon disperses I usually find.
It contains no bleach at all but it will disinfect and this gives reassurance and peace of mind when keeping the kitchen clean and hygienic, it is also very kind and gentle on the skin and will not irritate.
It is streak free and there is no need to rinse off afterwards and then you feel safe in the knowledge that your work surfaces are clean and ready for food preparation.
It will stain some surafces so be careful to read the instructiosn carefully on the reverse of the bottle before using for the first time.
Once you get to the end of a bottle you will find that the trigegr will not work as effectively so I just take the top off and empty the contants directly onto a cloth so as not to waste any.
A great cheap product from tesco that really does the job.

Tesco Anti Bacterial Cleaner Spray
I am a huge fan of Dettol and at least once a day I will wipe down all the kitchen surfaces and dining room table with a few squirts of it with a damp cloth. After trying some of Tesco's own brand products of late and finding that they have been a reliable and good cheaper equivalent to the more well known brands, I decided to buy and try this Tesco anti-bacterial spray rather than my usual Dettol.
I can't quite remember exactly what I paid for this, but I believe it was around £1.50, it was not an expensive product for how long it lasts. It has been well worth the money and so far it has lasted me a month and there is still some remaining, this could have lasted much longer if you use it a bit more sparingly than me.
It has a nice smell to it but importantly the smell isn't too strong or overpowering, it is pleasant, fresh and clean fragrance that doesn't linger for too long. This is exactly what I want and look for in a good surface cleaner, to do its job without being too noticeable.
This comes in a clear plastic bottle, which is great because you can easily tell how much you have left and when it will need to be replaced.
Personally, I love having this handy, it just makes me feel cleaner, especially in an area that food is being prepared. I also feel more confident making my small nieces bottle on a surface that I know has been clean and as germ free as I can make it.
I don't think there is much more that I can say about this other than it promises to kill the majority of germs that may be lurking on your worktop surfaces. I don't just use this in the kitchen, but I clean my office and all around the house. It doesn't take moments to just spray and wipe this, which makes me feel confident that my home is nice and clean.
When using this I never wear gloves or any sort of protection and it has never annoyed my skin.
Overall, I really like this Tesco anti-bacterial spray and I will continue to use this now. I have found that it has delivered the same results as the more expensive brands. In my opinion, this deserves a very well earned five out of five stars.
I am a clean freak as any readers of my OCD review will know. Therefore, I like everything to be clean at all times. We used to always have Dettol at home but my Mum got so fed up with me going through a bottle a week she decided to buy me some Tesco Anti Bacterial Spray.
The spray is slightly different to that shown above. It is now in a clear bottle and has a clear liquid inside. Last time we bought some it cost just under £1 for 500ml. 500ml will probably last most people a good few weeks so this is great value for money.
So to use this spray you simply spray on a surface and then wipe it over with a dry cloth. I use this everywhere in the home including the bathroom and the kitchen.
I am a keen cook and love to bake. When I am cooking I like to ensure my surfaces are clean, especially if cooking with meat or raw egg. Using this spray is quick and easy, I can simply spray the surface, wipe the surface and then its clean. I use this spray all the time and me and my family have never been ill with any germs left lying on surfaces. It never alters the taste of food if food has been prepared on the surface this has been used on.
I also use the spray in the bathroom, I use it to clean the toilet, sink, shower and bath. It always leaves the bathroom looking shiny, clean and fresh.
The spray leaves surfaces mark free, it never leaves marks or smears so there is no need to use an additional spray afterwards. The trigger spray is easy to use, I have never found a problem with it and it also has an on and off position meaning it is easy to transport.
This spray is a winner, especially for people like me who go through bucket loads!
I am a keen cook and I like to keep surfaces clean and tidy at all times. I purchased this Tesco Anti-bacterial spray for just 90p but I actually got 2 for £1.00 so a fantastic 50p per bottle is very reasonable indeed. There is just something about the name anti-bacterial which makes me feel a little more reassured before I have even started to use it.
This spray is provided in a plastic bottle which has a trigger spray making it fantastically easy to use. The spray is clear and has a light foam to it when sprayed which I suppose is caused by the trigger spray. This spray is very easy to use, just pull the trigger and aim it at the surface you want to clean or protect from germs. I find that this is suitable for many uses including cleaning surfaces in my kitchen & all the surfaces in my bathroom. This type of product is not designed for use on glass, polished or painted surfaces as it may damage these surfaces or leave dirty looking marks and smears. I find that this works very well on the taps in my bathroom though and leaves a lovely clean gleam on my worktops.
This spray is simple to use as it can be sprayed direct on to the surface or it can be sprayed on to a cloth and then used that way instead. I normally use a cloth for my cleaning as I can just throw it in the washing machine at the end of the day to avoid spreading or growing any bacteria on my cloths.
There is a light scent to this cloth which really just makes me think of cleanliness and reassures me that my surfaces are being cleaned. This spray works very well as it removes dirty marks and it leaves all my surfaces lovely and clean and hygienic afterwards. Most evenings I give my worktops a quick wipe over with a cloth sprayed with this just to ensure that everything is kept clean and hygienic.
As there is no bleach contained within this product it will not stain surfaces or discolour them as long as you ensure that you don't not leave things soaked for days on end.
Overall I am very pleased with the quality of this product and it is reassuring to me to know that I am keeping my surfaces clean and hygienic with just a minute or two out of my free time each evening. The scent is not too overpowering and it doesn't end up transferring on to food if I have been using this on my work surfaces. I also find this product easy to keep in the bathroom and I can just give it a squirt in the toilet bowl each time I have used it to keep things nice and hygienic and I can spray some of this on to some tissue and wipe the toilet seat over if I want to keep everything clean and fresh.
I started buying Tescos own antibacterial spray when I was trying to cut down my shopping bill. I have never looked back, and even if the leading brand was on promotional offer I probably wouldnt notice as I now head straight for the Tesco own version.
It is now sold in a clear 750ml bottle with pale blue trigger and blue labels, The fluid is clear within the bottle.
When using this product I am always satisfied that my surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and any nasty germs killed. The product itself smells great, it has that 'clean' smell thats great in any home, and the smell seems to last really well too. It is easy to use, the trigger works brilliantly, it sprays nicely to cover a wide area of surface, I have never had any issues with it not working for a few sprays as I have had with other trigger pump products. there is a handy on/off switch on the trigger for safety, you just have to turn the nozzle. The bottle is nicely designed so it is easy to hold and its the perfect size bottle too, its a good weight so it doesnt feel uncomfortable on your wrist, and there are finger indents in the neck of the bottle for a nice grip.
It costs around £1 a bottle and it lasts me a while, I think its great value for money.
-The Shocking Story of Wasting Money?-
Here is a shocking fact that many of us are guilty of. If you currently purchase Dettol Anti-bacterial Sprays, or the Cif ones, or even the Anthony Worral Thompson Fresh and Green Anti-bacterial all purpose cleaner. And yes there is nothing celebrity chefs seemingly won't endorse for cash. You are wasting money, in fact over a £1 for each purchase.
Why do I say that, well the purpose of an Anti-Bacterial cleaining spray, is to well clean, and to be Anti-Bacterial. Given that the Tesco Anti-Bacterial cleaning spray contains near identical ingredients to the aforementioned products, you might be surprised to hear that 500ml, will cost you a cool £1, compared to over £2 for the others.
-Where Can It Be Used?-
In a word, Everywhere!
I remember growing up in a home where we had a seperate bathroom cleaning product, and a seperate kitchen cleaning product, and a third for cleaning other surfaces. Yet give or take a few elements, these products all contained principally similar ingredients.
Those ridicolous days are now cosigned to the past thankfully, a bit like those anally retentive people who concentrate on grammer and spellings. And other than lurking and lingering in a few places; such as under rocks, the fast lane of the M4, and internet review websites we rarely these days encounter them.
My point? Well, in these MODERN times, where "txt" speak is accepted and understood by those 90 and under, where silly grammatical symbols arent (aren't) needed to measure ones intelligence or class, the same cleaner CAN be used everywhere. And this product is the perfect all-in-one solution. From the kitchen, the bathroom, sanitizing a pet piddle on the living room laminate, to even ensuring nursery surfaces are hygenically clean for babies to crawl over, this product can do it all.
-Does It Do The Job?
Well aside from the anti-bacterial claims which one has to consider a given (especially as the product contains soaps, and a bleach agent). It has to be said, but the Tesco Anti-Bacterial cleaner does actually work.
It is more than capable of cutting through grime, grease, and recent limescale deposits no problem at all. Making it ideal for cleanup jobs big and small. In use, I find it doesn't even need to be left to soak to work, one spray and a wipe does the trick. Another positive I like is that it doesn't have an overly strong fragrance, I mean who wants the reek of artificial cleaner up their nose, I certainly don't.
On tougher dried on grime, it does need to soak for a while, this is probably where the more expensive detergent cleaners might come into their own. Lets face it however, on most occasions this type of cleaning product is just used to lightly clean, rather than clean a surface from hell with dried filth and grime. So the extra cleaning power possibly available by using one of the other more expensive cleaners, essentially is superflous.
Given the satisfactory job at both cleaning and sanitzing that this product does, and given that it costs a £1 per volume cheaper than its rivals. I would not hesistate to recommend using Tesco AntiBacterial Cleaner around the home.
I would also say, don't be fooled by claims on other products about killing viruses. It is a fact that things like the flu virus can be killed by simple soap and water, so taking into account that Tesco AntiBacterial has tougher elements than mere soap. You can safely say "Asta La Vista, baby" to contact surface viruses.
SOOOO Save your money, and give it a try!
When it comes to cleaning, well it's a pastime I really actually enjoy (ok I'm odd lol) At the moment though I'm living at home and the cleaning gets done at the crack of dawn by house proud Mother and there isn't really anything left for me to do! However I do have my own bedroom which I like to look immaculate and if my parents go out I will whizz about our two bathrooms and kitchen whenever I get the chance.
I was out shopping today in my local Tesco store and I do like to buy the odd cleaning product or two. To say my bedroom needed a good clean out was an understatement.
Now you may ponder as to why I would buy an antibacterial spray with a bedroom in mind. I mean I shouldn't be harbouring e coli in here or salmonella but I have my reasons! I don't want to go into too much detail, you may be sat there eating but one night last week I was a bit sick and I reached my bin in time but sadly, today I noticed it had splattered up my cabinets and dribbled down my skirting boards and sort of set! Also greasy paw prints had arrived around my doorhandles and things like that and really I put off the cleaning cos it all looked so bad I didn't know where to start lol. So yes I felt I not only needed this for a general rub down but it would be good to kill any germs that I was festering in here!
The product shown on the top of this page has recently changed. The bottle design is the same but it's now a clear plastic bottle that holds 500ml of the product and it has a a clear trigger action spray still to the top of it with a safety cap so you can turn it on and off. The front label is bright green with a picture of a daisy on it and now this is called Daisy antibacterial cleaner 'Kills 99.9 bacteria' The back label is white and on that I'm given directions for use (spray this onto a surface and wipe away), care instructions are given as are a list of warnings, ingredients and the size are stated, contact details for Tesco are given and finally there is a bar-code on there. I like the style of the bottle but don't appreciate not being told what it kills in depth. I don't know these things! I do like being able to see the clear liquid through the bottle though cos I know when I'm running out etc.
Well first off we are told not to use it on carpets, soft furnishings, polished furniture, windows or mirrors. So that's most of my bedroom not being able to be cleaned with this.....
However I did use it in my bedroom! I'm not suggesting that you personally use it as I did as Tesco do say not to but personally I found it fine and it came down to using it with common sense and once I started cleaning with it I couldn't stop myself!
This only has a really light fragrance and I mean light too so don't use this thinking your home is going to smell all fresh it isn't. I could only smell anything when I sprayed it onto a cloth and inhaled and my nose even then really struggled to detect anything at all in the fragrance department.
So I wiped over my pvc windows (missing glass), my furniture and my door by simply spraying a little of this spray onto a cloth opposed to spraying it directly onto things in case I damaged them. It removed light marks with ease and left no residue behind itself. Then where I mentioned I splattered sick everywhere I sprayed it on directly, left it a few seconds and gently wiped it all away. No scrubbing required and it left the area sparkling clean. I then went to where my shoes are stored in my wardrobe and once again sprayed some of this there and wiped. Again did a blinding job! Don't go near windows or mirrors though, I did accidently and it did smear!
I was really pleased with this spray, and pleased that although I really did a great job cleaning my bedroom I hadn't used much spray at all so off I went to the bathroom and kitchen! I sprayed it around my bath, sink and toilet. I then sprayed the toilet roll holder and stuff and once again grease and grime and general muck was gone in a flash. Same with the kitchen! A quick wipe down really did remove dirt I never knew we had and all the areas were left looking bright and with a clean feel.
This works like a multi purpose spray but your safe in the knowledge that it kills germs too so me, I'm happy to use it everywhere in my home. I liked not having to rinse it off or things being left dull and really at 98p this is a bargain buy. You can use this in nurseries too as it's safe and I even got some on my best jeans by accident whilst using it and it didn't take the colour out. I wiped over my phones with this as well my keyboard (spraying a little onto a cloth first) and felt it was great for simple little jobs like that too! Easy and safe to use....bargain!

I should first say that while it seems to be the same product, the bottle I bought looks different to the one above- it is clear with green liquid.
The packaging is fairly well designed, it has a cap that has to be clicked round to open the nozzel and allow the trigger to work. I'm not sure how effective this would be for preventing little people from mischief, but I suppose it is better than nothing.
It is quite handy however for storage purposes, as it means that the trigger won't get pressed in the cupboard.
I'm not much of a cleaner so having one thing to do anything is a huge bonus for me- never understood why there is quite so many products for everything!
This cleans effectively on everything I have tried, and really brought my stainless steel sink up a treat. It is however slightly bubbly, but this could be due to the force of the spray.
The spray is quite a heavy one, and dispenses a fair amount of product.
It's quite difficult to comment on the anti-bacterial effectiveness since I am not a microbiologist, but tesco claim it kills 99.9% of bacteria and I have no reason to disbelieve them.
The smell is meant to be apple, but to be honest it smells like it was designed by someone who has only been told what a apple smells like.
It's by no means unpleasant though, and is very fresh, stong and long lasting.
I'm normally a fan of the Dettol Anti Bacterial Spray, I have been buying it for the last few years and am completely happy with the results it gives. It cuts through grease and grime and gives me confidence that the surfaces I use it on are bacteria free. Recently however, I have been trying to reduce the escalating price of my supermarket shop and the way I have been doing this is by dropping down from the premium brands and instead trying the supermarket own branded products.
So on my next shop I purchased a bottle ot the Tesco Anti Bacterial Cleaner Spray although I have to say I was a little unsure whether I was making a wise choice in this case. I was so happy with the results that the Dettol Spray produced aqnd one thing I really didn't want to cut corners on was hygiene. The product was significantly cheaper, costing 98p for a 500ml bottle and it came in a bottle with a trigger spray screwed into the top.
When it came to using the product, it was dispensed in a way I was familiar with. The spray has quite a chemically smell, but in my opinion it didn't smell quite as clean as the dettol smell I knew and loved. I also don't think that it cut through grease and the kitchen mess and grime all that well. I had to really give it a good scrub and on certain spillages I had to get other cleaning products out of the cupboard as it just wasn't up to scratch.
For me personally I was disappointed in this product, it just didn't produce the results I was hoping for and after the bottle is finished I will be purchasing my beloved Dettol once more.
Tesco Anti-Bacterial Spray.
This is Tesco's own brand version of the household anti-bacterial spray, similar to Mr Muscle/Dettol etc and to be honest it's really quite good. It comes in a clear spray bottle with a blue trigger; each bottle contains 500ml of Anti-Bacterial cleaner for around 70p which is an awful lot cheaper than the other brands out there.
The anti-bacterial spray can be used all throughout the home in almost every situation to keep everything germ free and very clean. I personally use it in my own home and use it on the worktops, kitchen surfaces, bathroom sink, windowsills, tables and chairs and wardrobes. These are only a few examples but it can be used practically anywhere.
It's very good at its job, killing 99.99% of germs as stated on the bottle and it's also non-tainting and won't stain any surface it's put onto. It is fragranced however and can be quite overpowering if you spray too much so be gentle with it.
The bottle can be recycled once it's been used up so that's a plus and it lasts an awfully long time. One bottle usually lasts me 2-3 months and that's with it being used once or twice ever 2-3 days.
Next time your in Tesco and need an anti-bacterial cleaner, try the Tesco home brand one. We've never gone back to Dettol as it's just as good and costs under half the price.
I received this product as a substitution when doing my regular weekly shop online with Tesco as my usual product was unavailable. I was quite disappointed at first because usually when I find a product I like I will stick to it. I usually use dettol anti bacterial spray because it kills 99% of bacteria and I think it cleans very effectively and without leaving a strong odour. So my substituted product had alot to live up to.
Firstly the packaging;
The bottle itself is clear and made from plastic so it is easy to recycle once finished. It has a pale blue screw top with trigger attached with the words on and off clearly marked on the nozzle making it safe to shut off whilst not in use and protect children and against accidental spillages in cupboards. The label on the front shows a chopping board and some cucumber sliced on it allowing you the consumer to perceive it is safe to use on a variety of kitchen surfaces, although I am aware the label clearly displayed in the picture above is not the label on the current product.
I use my usual product on a variety of surfaces and so I used this product in exactly the same way firstly cleaning up a juice spillage on the kitchen worktop, one spray and wipe away with a clean cloth/sponge. It did what I expected it came out in a fine mist and effectively removed the purple blackcurrant juice stain of off the worktop however, I did not expect the very strong odour that came with it. It was extrememly strong and I found it got in the back of my throat and me cough involuntary. I was not impressed.
You can use the product on all kitchen work surfaces, chopping boards, cooker tops, sinks, cupboard fronts dependant on your cupboard type, it also states on the bottle it can be used for effective cleaning in bathrooms and in a nursery. I used the product on the sink and I did as it said sprayed, wiped and dried with a clean cloth, no problems here. This product makes two claims on the front of the product label;
Kills 99.9% of bacteria
However, when I came to use it on my stainless steel hob I thought I had wiped it clean and polished it dry to achieve a high sheen as usual but on closer inspection after about half an hour (when I returned to the kitchen) I noticed it looked tainted and smeered, I was very disappointed and took to doing the task again. It did come up better but I feel cheated by a product that claims to do what my usual product claims but leaves you choking on its very strong and unpleasant smell and leaves your shiny steel surfaces tainted something it claims on the front of the products label it does not do.
I like that after using the product on kitchen surfaces and wiping you can allow the surfaces to air dry, which not only save a little time( granted not much ) but, also practically germ free. However, I was shocked to read on the label on the reverse of the product in the warning section no less that this product is not safe for pets especially cats!!! As a cat owner I read on, it states if you wipe a surface you must dry it before the cat comes into contact with it and not allow the cats to lick the surfaces that have just been sprayed!! I have ofcourse since then been very careful, but I would just like to point out that the warning label is in very small print, it is almost like they do not want people to read it. As I expected to read though it does state do not breathe product, okay how long can you hold your breath?
Non-ionic Surfactants Less than 5%
It represents value for money at 88 pence for 500ml, it is almost half of the price I would pay for my original cleaner, but would I buy it again? In a word NO. I don't like that it leaves streaks, and I certainly don't appreciate the odour which is harmful not only to me (should you breathe in the spray) but my pets too.
As with all Tesco products they offer their no quibble return or refund promise, which in hindsight I wish I had taken advantage of. This product is certainly not one I would recommend, although it does not represent the vast array of good own brand products that on the whole Tesco does.
