Tesco Anti-bacterial Multi Action Wipes Citrus
Advantages: Smell nice in the packet !
Disadvantages: Too small and the smell disappears too quickly
This week I've been on a bit of a cleaning frenzy, I've dedicated a whole day to each room, today I have been doing the kitchen and along with my usual kitchen sprays and cloths, I picked up these Tesco Anti-bacterial Multi Action Wipes Citrus. I don't usually use these, so I thought I'd give them a try.
~Tesco Anti-bacterial Multi Action Wipes Citrus~
I saw these wipes just by chance while I was looking for multipurpose cloths, I knew I had a lot of cleaning to do and the cloths I already had were practically eaten away with bleach. The wipes, as it happens I spotted on the shelf before I found the other cloths I was after and because the packaging was so bright, I was drawn to picking up a packet and having a look. They sounded like just what I needed for the kitchen so I promptly stuck the packet in my basket.
Like I said the packaging for these wipes is bright yellow, there are or rather were, 40 wipes in the pack which incidentally states that these wipes kill 99.9% of bacteria including E. Coli, Listeria and Salmonella. The wipes are made with natural citrus extracts, which was very evident once I opened the pack. The packet opens the same way any other "wipes" product opens, and can be sealed closed again to keep them fresh and moist. I was a little disappointed with how small they were, for some reason I was expecting them to be much bigger, they were hardly big enough for me to get a good grip of in order to wipe the surface that I had prepared to wipe. The citrus smell didn't last long either, when I first took a wipe out of the packet, I could smell it very strongly, and it was quite soapy, but as soon as I started to wipe my surface the smell just seeded to disappear, and it didn't take long for the wipe to dry out.
The wipe really was next to useless, it screwed up so small it was hardly worth using. I got through a fair few of the wipes and I really wish they had been bigger. My hands felt horrible and sticky after use so I had to give my hands a good scrub. The directions for use of these wipes say to wipe the surface vigorously, if I had done that it would have been my hand rubbing the surface and not the wipe, the wipes balled up so small, I probably would have got better results had I used 3 or 4 wipes at once, but surely that defeats the object. The wipes are quite thin as well, although after saying that I didn't have one rip on me, so that's something at least.
There is a list of some of the ingredients contained in these wipes on the back of the packet with one of these ingredients being disinfectant. You can visit www.wipesdirect.co.uk for more information.
These wipes are not to be used for skin cleansing
Avoid contact with eyes
Users with sensitive or damaged skin should wear gloves
Do not dispose of down the toilet
Do not use on carpets upholstery or fabrics
In case of accidental contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice
I didn't use gloves with these wipes and I have a couple of sore chapped fingers at the moment and the wipes did not effect me at all, so I wouldn't worry to much about the damaged skin bit, the wipes didn't even sting my fingers on the sore areas.
These wipes cost me about £1.50 for a pack of 40 from Tesco Express. I don't think I'll be bothering again and somehow begin to realize why I haven't bothered with kitchen wipes in the past. So for me I'll stick to my kitchen spays with their strong lingering aromas.
~In the end~
After I had finished with the wipes I could not smell the citrus at all, I was quite disappointed I must say and had hoped for my kitchen to smell quite citrusy when I'd finished, but I decided I would get more of a citrus smell if I was to do a bowl of washing up with my lemon fairy.
Only 2 stars for these Tesco Anti-bacterial Multi Action Wipes Citrus as they only smell nice when the pack is opened and they are way to small in my opinion.
Thank you for reading my review which may also be posted on other sites.
