My husband has got a thing about these cistern blocks as he insists they keep the toilet fresh, we bought these at Tesco and the twin pack cost us 30p which I think is a good price when compared to similar products.

The cistern blocks come on a cardboard backing with a plastic cover on the front and the two sealed together, the cardboard is white in colour and has the Tesco Value logo in red and blue on the top, the only information is that it is a twin pack which you can see anyway. The packaging is very simple and it is obviously a value product this doesn't bother me as I would prefer simple packaging and a lower price tag.

The direction for use are, clean toilet throughly including under the rim,remove a block from the pack, do not remove the pleated wrapper as this will dissolve in the water, drop the block into the cistern by the float at the oposite end to the water inlet, allow 5 minutes for the block to settle before the first flush, when colours fades replace with another block.

Th blocks are easy to use, to open you need to pull the cardboard from the plastic which is the most difficult thing about using them. When I have cleaned the bathroom I will pop one of these into the toilet and within a few minutes flush and the water will turn blue. I find that this tends to last about 5 days in our house but we have 2 adults and a child who goes the toilet loads so I think it lasts pretty well. The toilet seems to be clean with use and the blue colour slowly fades to show when you need to use another one. I would recommend these they may not last as long as the more expensive brands but at 15p each they are still worth the price.
