Unfortunately I don't have a dishwasher so its hand washing for all my dishes, I think doing the dishes is actually one of my least favourite housework chores. I have bought these sponges for a number of years now and I have to say they are great value for money and I don't think I would buy anything else.

The sponges come in a pack of 5 and unlike the picture here they are yellow now instead of white, with a dark green scrubby bit. I think the change is due to the tesco value range being rebranded to "everyday value". The cost for the sponges is currently 16p, yes thats right 16p for 5 sponges, an absolute bargian in my opinion!

The sponges have 2 sections to them, a yellow spongey section which is good for wiping soft stuff from your dishes, the soft spongey bit is also good for cleaning and wiping up work surfaces. The second section is a dark green hardy scrubby bit, useful for scrubbing off food welded to the bottom of a pan or such like, however for really welded on food these sponges don't really cut it, better to let the pot soak for a while or get yourself a pot scrubber.

The sponges tend to last me a couple of weeks, but it all depends on how many dishes I'm doing, or how much I'm scrubbing them as the scrubby bit tends to get worn away. At only 16p though I don't really mind when it gets time to bin them, if they were more expensive I'd probably feel like I was throwing money away.

I definitely recommend these sponges, they are so cheap you really cant go wrong!
