What can I say about these except what a bargain. I normally but my kitchen sponge pads from Home Bargains for 50p but seeing these in Tesco for 14p (at the time of writing) I had to try them. These are great value they work out at only 3p each, the Tesco ordinary brand six pack is 52p which are 9p each so quite a saving.

The wrapper above is outdated, now they're pictured with relevant kitchen items in green. Their new title is 'Every Day Value'. We're told that they are 5 pan cleaners and can be used for cleaning pans, grills, ovens and barbeques and washing vegetables ( I don't know about the last one but I suppose scrubbing potatoes with the scourer side is an option). They are also white and green.

As you would expect they're slightly thinner and smaller than their dearer counter parts, but I don't think that matters for the price. The sponges are about an inch thick with a good layer of scourer on the top- scourer being rough plasticy curly stuff used for scrubbing tough stuff of pans etc. They aren't shaped at the sides either like expensive pads but again I don't find this a problem- I don't even notice.

The sponges themselves are great little cleaners, they don't seem to fall apart, sometimes with loads of use the scourer comes unstuck and bits fall off, but not that often- in any case all brands do this eventually. The scouring action is adequate and doesn't scratch. I use these in the bathroom too and they're great, much better than a cloth.

I would say I change sponges every few weeks, these last the duration.
