Advantages: Plain, simple but effective budget kitchen towels - half the price of some posher brands

Disadvantages: Dull packaging and product but who cares? They're for wiping up mess!

It's not the most exciting of products, but kitchen roll is one of those indispensible items which I always have at least a few rolls of in the house, and find myself using everyday. I find it's a product that's so useful for spills and cleaning so many things, and the kitchen roll I usually buy is the Tesco Value White Kitchen Towels.

I do my main shop at Tescos, and apart from a few exceptions I'm a big fan of their value range, and so I've been using these value kitchen towels for years and can't see myself changing to be honest!

I use them for so many things around the house: if I spill anything, then this absorbant paper towel roll is always on hand to help mop up the mess, if I'm cleaning something dirty but don't want to re-use the implement, then kitchen roll is great as it's easily disposed of into the recycling without feeling wasteful. I use these for drying down the inside of the cats' litter trays once they've been emptied and washed, as I find they are strong enough to be able to take a little scrubbing action, providing the surface they're scrubbing isn't too damp - one negative point is that the Tesco Value Kitchen Towels are not particularly tough when wet, unlike some more expensive brands who pride themselves on this.

I also use these towels if I'm cooking and need to place anything that's been fried or grilled down - the paper towels help soak up any excess grease or oil on the food, keeping the calories down, and the paper doesn't stick to the food either.

These are very basic, cheap looking kitchen paper towels, with the basic, cheap Tesco Value red and white packaging, but the product is not rubbish at all! I find that for my everyday household and kitchen uses, they are perfectly decent, budget kitchen rolls. They might not have a fancy design on them, they may not be super soft, but for a bit of paper that's going to help wipe up dirt / spilled food / sick and god knows what else up off my floors and surfaces, they are great. Who needs floral patterns on something so disposable, practical and dull?

This kitchen towel sells for around £1.15 in Tescos for 2 rolls and for that price it's decent value. The non-Value but Tesco homebrand kitchen towels are also very good value, as they are a little better than these Value versions (a little more absorbant and stronger) but for around 35p more per double pack. Considering you can buy fancy, top brand kitchen rolls for double the price of this product, which aren't twice as good, I think these are a good buy, and for my uses, they suit me fine.

Summary: A good, budget product that does it's job very well for the price.
