Advantages: Cheap, strong, thick, work quite well.
Disadvantages: Not as good as other brands.
=== The product ===
This is kitchen towel from Tesco. There are two rolls per packet. Each roll currently has 120 sheets.
=== The packaging ===
These two rolls come provided in a polythene packaging. This is a very cheap packet and this is clear packaging with red white and blue logos and detailing, like all the Tesco value products. There is nothing special about this packaging and I usually just stab my finger through the middle of the two rolls to get them out of the packet.
=== Where can I buy this & for how much? ===
These can be purchased from Tesco stores and www.tesco.co.uk for £1.25. 240 sheets of kitchen towel for £1.25 makes these one of the cheapest products on the market.
=== Overall opinion ===
Let me start by saying that I don't buy these often. I would usually only purchase these kitchen towels if none of the other brands that I like, Plenty, Multicloths etc, are on offer as I do begrudge paying more than about £1.30 for 2 kitchen towels, even if the quality is brilliant as ultimately I am always going to need one sheet, or more, depending on the job, and therefore these are good value for money when the other brands are back at their usual £2.00+ price.
These kitchen towels are average, average in price and average in quality. Each sheet is a reasonable price, more than covering the palm of my hand, there are little bumps all over the sheet, presumably to help with absorbency, or grip, or durability. Some kind of research has been applied to these no doubt to ensure that they cost as little as possible to make and work the best that they can. So do they work well?
I tend to use kitchen towel, like most people who buy it, for spills in and around the home. I also use them for cleaning my windows, both inside and out, as I find that one or two is enough to clean one side of my balcony doors very well. I can compare these quite well to a more expensive brand. I find that just one is not enough for dealing with larger spillages and these do not wring out well, however, because they are cheaper I do not mind using two or even three pieces of kitchen towel. The towels hold together quite well, they crumble up well if I have caught a wasp inside them (common now as they are dying off from a nest nearby and keep ending up in my kitchen). The pieces are quite thick, a reasonable size and they generally work quite well at cleaning up messes and spills.
I do not feel that these work as well as the more expensive brands that I normally use, however, for the lower price I feel that the quality is not considerably lowered, just slightly. I am more than happy to use these, when my budget forces me to, however, I only buy these as a second resort really, I would buy these before I would buy one of the vastly inflated brands but if I can get Plenty or Multicloths for under £1.30 or so then I would definitely prefer those to this brand.
Summary: A fairly decent kitchen towel from Tesco.
