Advantages: Effective, price
Disadvantages: Fragrance of my option!
Washing up liquid is a simple product for me to buy. I usually opt to buy something from the Persil range as I trust it and know its good stuff. However many of us at the moment are of course watching our pennies and the other day I spotted this in my local Tesco store costing £1.20 a bottle or any two bottles for £1.20 so I grabbed a couple of the lemon scented bottles (apple fragrance was also available I just didn't fancy that lol).
The bottle is see-through with a red flip-top lid opening to the top of it and it holds 500ml of the liquid. On the front of the bottle we are told that it is Tesco Lemon Washing Up Liquid 'Long Lasting Cleaning Power' and that the fragrance has been improved. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told a bit about the product and directions for use are given along with warnings, the ingredients are given as is the size stated (as I have listed already) and contact details for Tesco are given. Its a cheap looking bottle this one being so plain looking though it does have a curved section to the top of it for ease of handling which is great when your hands are greasy and/or wet or whatever!
The Washing Up Liquid:
Well to use this washing up liquid of course you simply use it as you would any other. The liquid is yellow in colour, transparent and rather runny like a thin gel and you don't need too much with water to get a nice gentle foam on the water and a rather unnatural zesty fragrance of lemons. For me the scent of this although reminiscent of lemons and with a hint of zest is sickly to say the least.
It turns water reasonably soft though not overly so and is a decent quality washer upper! It doesn't agitate my hands when I'm using it and it helps me to rid my gear of dirt, grease and grime and allsorts.....though dirt isn't a regular thing on my pots and pans to be fair but you know what I mean, it tackles plenty! It leaves cutlery and glassware shiny though I do always rinse with plain water after using washing up liquid on them and when it comes to baked on foods I simply add a small amount of this and water to the object and allow it to soak for a while before scrubbing it out!
All round, apart from the scent this is a decent quality washing up liquid. It does its job well, doesn't go too soapy and is effective and a little of it goes a very long way indeed. Not a bad offering though I have to admit I still prefer my Persil as it is kinder to my hands and works at beating grease and grime quicker in my humble opinion!
Only available in Tesco stores.
