I bought this toilet duck in Tesco when I saw it on offer for £1. I usually buy the cheaper versions, but this seemed good value compared to the alternatives, and if possible I like to get a branded one if I can because it convinces me my toilet is as clean as it can be.
The toilet cleaner claims to be a 4-in-1 cleaning product and makes the following claims:
· 99.99% germ kill
· Cleans effectively
· Fresh fragrance
· Eliminates odours without masking
The bottle has a duck shaped neck which allows you to aim under the rim of the toilet to ensure you kill as many germs as possible. I must admit when I first used this product, I found it quite difficult to aim where I wanted to as I'm not used to the neck shape and it comes out quite rapidly. The toilet cleaner is called "Marine", and yet despite this I was quite surprised to see it was bright blue! I think the past few I've had have been citrus based, so they tend to be clear. The blue is good though, because it's easier to see where you've missed when you're cleaning.
The liquid is very thick, and coats the toilet bowl in a thick layer rather than sliding down the bowl into the toilet like cheaper toilet cleaners do. Once the toilet has been flushed, the blue disappears but the water in the bowl is frothy and has white bubbles. This stays in the bowl for a few flushes, so I feel happy that it's keeping my toilet fresher for longer.
The smell of this toilet cleaner is very pleasant. It does smell a little bit chemical-like, but not awful like some bleach can. It has a bit of a bleach smell but does smell fresh and pleasant. One thing I have noticed with this, is that the smell seems to linger in the bathroom long after the toilet has been flushed. I've never noticed this with other toilet cleaners, usually when you flush the toilet and the bleach is gone, the smell goes with it.
I'm very impressed with this toilet cleaner, and it's not bad value because even at full price it only costs £1.29. I might be switching to this in the future to put my mind at ease that the toilet is being kept clean in between bathroom scrubs.
Toilet duck kills most germs / It removes limescale too / It also freshens and cleans below and above the waterline / With the unique neck it has greater access to reach the difficult parts of the toilet bowl.
