      Great value floor wipes with a sweet lemon fragrance

      '''=WILKO FLOOR WIPES='''

      I have used many brands of floor wipes over the years with brands such as Dettol, Mr Muscle, Pledge and even Tesco's own and they all seem to come out well, but, with so many brands of floor wipes on sale today, I tried wilkinsons brand...

      Floor wipes are an easy way to clean your floor, you just take one wipe out of the packet, wrap it around your sweeper and away you go, it's that easy! You can even use these wipes by hand or by using a broom or mop, but I don't recommend this. See, if you had to clean an entire floor with one wipe on your hands and knees, you'd soon realise!

      '''=PRICE AND APPEARANCES='''

      Wilko floor wipes come in a green pouch (similar to a baby wipe pouch) with a resealable opening. Inside their are 15 moist, lemon fragranced wipes with an antibacterial action. These cost 98p for 15 wipes, but on my latest trip, they were 2 for £1.50.

      '''=DO THEY WORK?='''

      Yes, they do work, and they leave the room smelling fresh and clean too! I attached mine to a sweeper system from Lidl (an aquapur cleaning system) and began sweeping across the room, when I was done I looked at my wipe and it was filthy! I threw it in the bin straight away! I felt good knowing all the bacteria was gone too!

      I went into the kitchen only to find my sweeper system was broke! Where the pole screws in to the head, a bit of plastic broke off which means the head wont stay on to the pole! Oh well, next time I go into town I might look for the wilko cleaning mop...

      '''=SUMMARY='''

      Oh, one thing I forgot to mention, these wipes are a lot thicker than tescos own, so try these if you want a clean floor!

      In my opinion these wipes are very good value for money, I use these to clean the floors inbetween mops and I have tried these on sealed wood, ceramic and normal tiles, and it cleans them all effectively! They also remove bacteria too, so they are like Dettol, only with a lemon fragrance!

      Thank tou for reading my review!

      great value cleaning wipes

      My apartment has wooden floors in the front room and the hall way as well as tiles in the bathroom and the kitchen. I do hoover my hard floors but I do not find that it gets rid of all the dust that collects on it. I started using these wipes a while ago as they not only give great results but are much more cost effective than some of the branded wipes.

      As they are Wilkinson's own brand you can therefore only buy them in Wilkinson's. They are priced at around £1.00 per pack of 15 wipes. My last purchase was for two packs for £1.50 which I think is great value.
      The wipes come in slightly different packaging now than the picture shown above, the pack is now quite a vivid lime green colour and has a peel able opening which allows you to dispense the wipes and then sticks back closed to keep the wipes moist and fresh.

      On the back of the pack there are directions for use of the wipes, they show you how to attach the wipes to a sweeper that you can also buy from Wilkinson's. I prefer to use use the wipes by hand as it allows you to get into all the corners of the floor. It also states to test the wipes on a small section of flooring first in case any reaction occurs, I have used these wipes for a while now on all of my hard floors and have not had any problems with them.

      The wipes themselves are quite a good size and are thick and strong. Each wipe cleans quite a large section of flooring and they have a lovely strong lemon fresh fragrance. I find the wipes really easy and quick to use as if you have a splillage or need to clean up in a hurry then they are handy to quickly grab, wipe and bin!

      It states that you can use the wipes on tiles, linoleum, laminate flooring and other hard surfaces. The wipes are also anti-bacterial which in my opinion is a bonus as not only do they clean but also leave them germ free.
      I will certainly continue to use these wipes as they clean quickly and effectively have a great fresh fragrance and are excellent value. Therefore I would definitely recommend them for anyone who has hard or laminate flooring.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Fab floor wipes that really do the job.

      My kitchen floor has smooth cream ceramic tiles which are lovely to look at but not practical in the slightest, as everything shows up on them. This drives me to distraction. The moment I finish with my mop and bucket it only takes a few muddy footprints for me to need to get my mop out again. I have tried using floor wipes before but never quite felt they did an effective enough job. For me, the wipes always seem too flimsy and not wet enough to remove anything other than very light dirt.

      I'm regularly in my local Wilkos and have tried some of their own brand products before and have generally been impressed with the standard. They also tend to be quite a bit cheaper than well known brands. When I saw their own brand Antibacterial Floor Wipes I thought I'd give them a whirl. They come in a blue packet which contains 15 wipes. They can be used by hand or attached to a sweeper and are suitable for tiles, laminate flooring, linoleum and other hard surfaces. They are not suitable to be used on soft furnishings. They seem to be readily available in both large and small stalls. My local Wilkos is only a small one and I'm always able to get them in there. Their current selling price (January 2010) is 98p. I think this is a great price as branded wipes such as Flash and Dettol cost twice this amount. Each wipe is approximately
      28cm x 23 cm so I would say the wipes are a decent size. They are a good fit for my sweeper but I often just use them by hand anyway. The pack is resealable once you've dispensed a wipe. The seal is really effective and has got a good stick to it, which remains sticky until the last wipe. I think this is important as it stops the wipes from drying out. The wipes are white so you can really see the dirt they clean up after you've wiped the floor. They have a very strong lemon fragrance. I can normally smell the fragrance even when the pack is sealed. This isn't a problem for me as I like the fragrance and like lemony smelling things in cleaning products. It could be a bit overbearing for some though and perhaps a bit artificial.

      I find the wipes very moist and substantially sturdy, with a good thickness, especially in comparison to others. This is a good thing as with just a bit of effort they work well on more stubborn dirt and other things like dust and crumbs stick to them so are lifted off the floor easily. They retain their moisture whilst using so they keep cleaning and they don't fall to pieces or tear easily. I generally keep using the same wipe until it is all dirty. Depending on how dirty my floor is I tend to need between one and two wipes to clean the whole floor. They don't leave any residue or smearing and my floor dries quickly after wiping. Which is a good thing as it means it is not necessary to go over it with a dry cloth. I tend to wipe the floor and then leave the kitchen for a couple of minutes by the time I return my floor is dry and has a slight sheen to it, the kitchen also has a lovely clean, fresh smell. I guess it's also useful that the wipes are antibacterial so they hopefully get rid of any harmful bacteria.

      Overall I would thoroughly recommend these wipes as they really do work and are very reasonably priced. As I need to clean my floor most days I find them really quick, effective and convenient to use.

      Thanks for reading.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        A great product at a great price, that I will continue to buy

        I absolutely love this product!!

        I have laminate floor in my kitchen and one of the bedrooms, the living room and dining room, and tiles in the conversatory and bathroom so get through lots and lots of floor wipes. I discovered these wipes years ago and use them regularly. I have used many other brands but find these amongst the best and the cheapest. A pack of 15 wipes is priced between 69p and 79p which is fantastic compared to supermarket own brands which tend to be around the £1 mark.

        I sweep and 'swiffer' my open plan dining and living area daily. It is a large area and I get away with using two wipes per 'swiff'. Using a pack of wipes each week on this area alone can be costly. I tend to mostly mop the other areas weekly and give the odd 'swiff' in between when getting the mop out seems to much of a chore. I do not mop the living/dining area ever as the flooring is ridged and water would collect in the ridges and warp over time.

        The wipes come in a bright blue resealable packet and are easy dispensed one at a time. The wipes are sizeable enough to fit most (if not all - I have two different 'swiffers' and they fit both comfortably) 'Swiffers' or can be used by hand.

        The wipes have a very strong lemon fragrance, which is a little chemically but very pleasant. They are very moist in the wrapper and the moisture lasts whilst they are being used. I normally turn them 'inside out' once the moisture goes on one side to get the maximum use out of them. I do sometimes use an antibacterial spray directly onto the floor to enhance to moisture and therefore cleaning factor.

        Even doing this clean everyday I am still amazed at the dirt that the first wipe picks up and am impressed that the second wipe mostly remains the orighinal colour of the wipe - proving that they work! It also makes me very pleased that I do not have carpet, I could not imagine the amount of dirt that would collect and clag my carpets!!

        I find that they are great for the purposes I use them, picking up daily passenger dirt and crumbs from my son (most of which are swept up) and I am pleased that they have anibacterial qualities, as my son has a tendency to pick up his dropped banana etc off the floor (nice) and I do not panic about that. (don't get me wrong - I do not left him eat off the floor, but the thought does not fill me with dread, as I know that the floors are cleaned regularly)

        When I use these I do not have problems with smearing or streaking.

        In summary, I love this product, the wipes are great value and although I do not use these exclusively, they are one of my favourite floor wipes for both price and useability. The only more pleasant smelling wipes I have come across are a much more expense branded one which I only get when they are BOGOF or half price.

        These are fantastic value.

        The four stars is purely for the chemically smell - when I know that there are better smells out there!
