“ Brand: Wizz / Type: Fabric Freshener / Category: Laundry „
When it comes to brand names, always try the cheaper alternative is my motto. There are loads of cheaper brands out there that do just as good a job as the real thing. So, when I didn't want to pay £2.69 for a bottle of Febreze, I reached for Wizz Fabric Fresh in Summer Breeze, a snip at only 99p for 750ml in B&M Bargains (I've also seen it in PoundLand, Home Bargains, and Poundstretcher. I shop in only the classiest joints ;) )
So, what's the bottle like? It's a white bottle, with a square base. It has a substantial blue trigger action spray attachment, with an ON and OFF position on the nozzle so you don't accidentally 'fabric fresh' the rest of your shopping as it bounces home in the boot of your car. The label shows a rather happy looking blonde lady leaping into the air. Clearly she loves Fabric Fresh. The caption says 'eliminates odours leaving fabrics fresh'. It also has three ticked points: Neutralises, Ideal for Carpets, and Clothes and Upholstery. Sounds ideal! (And just like Febreze!)
Using Fabric Fresh is a doddle. All you have to do is spray it on and you're done. I have used it on pillows (when the pillow cases are in the wash), throws, window blinds, carpets, cushions, and the mattress. It sprays on evenly (though it can make things slightly wet; they dry quickly, but you can't sit straight down on a sofa after a Wizz-ing, you need to give it about 15 minutes). I tend to incorporate it in my cleaning regime - shake out rugs and throws and pillows then give them a spray, then move on to hoovering and by the time the cleaning's done the items are dry.
The smell is lovely - not really like Febreze but just as light, airy and fresh with a slight hint of sweetness. It smells ever so mildly of bubblegum actually (ever so slightly, and only when being sprayed - it just smells fresh when it's on your things. I would say that you only need a few squirts too, so the bottle I can see easily lasting me a few months, based on a weekly freshening up.
The fresh scent certainly lasts the week, eliminating any stale odours, food odours or fusty smells you can get around the home. I would still recommend you give your home a good airing regularly but for things you can't pop in the washer Wizz Fabric Fresh is absolutely great.
So, I won't be going back to Febreze now and I'll be saving the pennies (or in this case, pounds) from now on. Lovely. I would wholly recommend Wizz Fabric Fresh in Summer Breeze as it does exactly what it says on the bottle, it's a great price, and it's long lasting. 5/5 for me.
I used to use Fabreeze quite often in my house, until I realised how quickly I was getting through it and how expensive it was. I was delighted when I found the Wizz equivalent in our local pound shop.
I have been using it for a while and will definitely stick to it as it is cheaper than fabreeze but does the same job.
There is a really vibrant flroal smell to this fabric freshener. It lasts well and is not too overpowering. It is strong enough to make a difference, without smelling the house out with chemicals.
The spray is not as fine as I would like, because I prefer a little amount of liquid - simply because I am worried about it staining fabric, not that it ever has. It has never left a mark at all.
You do not need to use much of it to really give your room a lift. Also, for more concentrated pongs, like shoes, you can spray close to the fabric and it really does help to eliminated the smell.
I have been really impressed with this product. It brightens my mood whenever I use it.
As I am quite tight I refuse to pay the high price for Febreeze fabric freshener when personally I find the Tesco's own brand to be just as good but when I spotted this one on offer I thought I would give it a good as it was a new product.
The bottle is a chunky white rectangle at the bottom with a slim neck and at the top it has a white trigger spray with a blue nozzle for stopping it being sprayed. The front of the bottle has a label on which has the product name, the brand logo and a picture of a woman jumping in the ait with yellow butterflies around her. On the back of the bottle there is also a label with the directions for use, warning and ingredients.
I use this on a variety of different things in the house, the main one being the curtains. I closer the curtains and then spray this all over them and leave them a few minutes to dry before re opening them. I also find this is a good product to spray on the beds in the morning just to freshen them up as my eldest does tend to sweat a lot in bed. I have a leather sofa so can not use I on that but I do use it on the fluffy cushions.
To get the product to spray then you must firstly twist the nozzle at the end of the trigger spray to the on position and then it is recommended that you spray this onto the fabric from a distance of about 20cm but for me I don't really go around measuring the distance but I have found t does work from slightly further away. When you have sprayed this then on some fabrics it is very noticeable as it does leave a light wet coating. This does disappear and dry after a few minutes.
The fragrance is claimed to be summer breeze but for me I have no idea what a summer breeze is supposed to smell like. I find that it smells floral. The smell is not at all over powering and is noticeable from the very first spray. The fragrance does last for a good few hours which I like as it makes the house smell lovely and inviting.
After using this for a few weeks I really did fall n love with it. I walk around each morning just giving the curtains and bedding a few squirts and for the next few hours I would be able to still smell it. It really does work well. One thing I did notice with it was when my boys were all sick and I had to scrub the carpets, I sprayed this on them after and it really did get rid of the nasty sick smell. I find that this is just as good if not better than the higher priced brands.
The few ingredients which are listed on this bottle include:-
Non-ionic surfactant, perfume and isothiazoline preservative.
This product has not been tested on animals which I find as a bonus for such a great product. It is to be kept out of reach of children. It is also recommended that you test this on a small part of the fabric before use but I have used this on a different variety of fabrics and have not had any problems. It is not for use on leather, suede or silk.
~~PRICE AND AVAILABILITY~~
I purchased this from Tesco for an offer price of £1. I am not sure of the full price now but it doubt it would be very expensive. There is a website for all Wizz products which can be found at www.wizzproducts.co.uk
Overall I do highly recommend this product as I got it at a great price, it works and the 750ml bottle being used daily usually lasts me about 3-4 weeks.
