Advantages: clean more or less any stains

Disadvantages: -

I hate mess and I am a reletively tidy person and like to make sure that my house is spick and span, but at the end of the day who can keep a house perfect 24/7. Within my house majority of my carpet is dark or I have laminate floor in certain areas of the house, however I have got one or two rooms that do have very light rugs and do tend to get dirty a little.

Its a typical scenario, having a few mates around, having a couple of glasses of wine (red wine) and if any is going to get spilled it goes on my cream rug instead of my brown carpet, how can people be so inconsiderate. Its same with the dog, I will take him for a walk or he will go into the garden and instead of waiting to have his paws wiped, he looks at me as to say, not yet and runs into my lounge and gets mud or dirty patches all over my lounge rug. I am to blame in my bedroom though unfortunately. I have a very light carpet in my smaller bedroom and that room is what I consider to be my girlie room, where I always get ready and do my make up. Whenever I leave myself alone with bronzing pearls, we do not get on together and they just try to get away from me, or should I say I dop them all over the carpet and they get trod in by the dog turning my carpet to a slightly pinky colour in places.

I have tried many different carpet cleaners over the years, however I have 1001 carpet cleaner with fibre shield protection one of the best that I have ever used and always have one in my shopping trolley every so often just in case I need it.

It works different on various types of stains to be honest. Its very simple ti use, just add it to luke warm water, 1 part shampoo and 6 parts water and mix it together, this will create a foam like effect on the top like washing up liquid does. Using only the foam apply this and rub into the stain, gradually as you rub, you will see the stain to start to disappear. Don't get the area too wet, thats why it is advisable that you only use the foam as opposed to the water with the liquid in it. Dab over with a dry cloth and its done. After the carpet is dry, then vacuum it over.

The 1001 carpet cleaner get bronzing pearls out absolutely fantastic and you wouldn't realise that there had been a stain there at all and with the red wine, I was extrememly surprised at how well it got that out. I still have the carpet now and you wouldn't know that there had been a red wine stain there either. One stain that it does battle with however is the mud. Ground in stains are really hard to get out especially if they have been there a while, but give them a harder scrub and they will come out.

One problem I do have is when I am treated a certain area, it is really good and leaves me to have the treat the whole carpet as you can tell where you have cleaned and where you haven't so doing a small task could create you a lot more work, if it didn't really need to be done in the first place.

1001 carpet cleaner is made by the WD40 Company. There are several of products within this range, all equally as good as each other. They are not expensive either and normally cost a couple of pounds within the supermarket. Its always worth putting one in your trolley, you never know when you might need it.

Summary: Great Carpet Cleaner

Scrubbing a tiny patch means you end up making the rest look dirty. Tee hee...it's a buggar when that happens isn't it ?!

I use the 1001 original carpet shampoo and knocks the Vax stuff at £12-99 for dead; particularly when Pound shops sell 1001 for.. a pound!
