Yankee Candle Sugared Apple
by xxfoxyredxx
I love Yankee Candle products so I was really pleased when I was recently in my local Homebase store and spotted this one reduced to 50p per tart instead of the usual price tag of £1.20 per tart and the reason for this as far as I am aware is because this is a festive fragrance so they may have been trying to get rid of them at the time ... and I do like a Yankee tart to purchase the best because I find them such good quality and value for money
The packaging of a wax tart is simple and they come in a see through plastic wrapper and on the front of of it on a label we are clearly told what it is and who it is made by and there is a wintery picture of apples shown then on the back/bottom of the label we are shown in diagrams do's and don't regarding using the tart, that it weighs 32g in total, should given us 8 hours of home fragrance and contact details for the manufacturer are listed.
The Tart Itself:
The tart is a round, fluted and white in colour and is a piece of wax with the word Yankee inscribed into the top of it. You can snap it into pieces and burn it that way or mix it with other Yankee fragrances or just burn the whole thing which is what I always do as I'm a bit or a purist!
This melts quickly into a hot pool of liquid and lets off scent quickly and the aroma of this is simply lovely. It really does smell of juicy and crisp apples with a base note that is musky in its aroma to me and with a hint of vanilla that sort of hovers over the top of the apple scent. This is sweet scent and very potent indeed and the aroma of this really does fill my home up with the scent and that scent lingers around a couple of hours after I've put it out and in total this let off fragrance for more like 10 hours of burn time than 8!
I liked this fresh, fruity and very sweet scent though I do think it make be a bit heavy and syrupy for some nasal passages but I feel this scent is warm as well as being fresh and that I rather like it and think its great to burn of a cold evening anywhere in my home and wish now I'd bought more of them whilst I had the chance as I haven't see these since!
Available in all good stores including Amazon.

Yankee Candle Paradise Spice
by xxfoxyredxx
I love Yankee Candle products and whenever I see one I haven't seen or smelt before I feel compelled to buy it! This one I spotted in my local Homebase store and it cost me £1.20 for the wax tart which is the usual format I buy my stuff in however it is also available in different sized candles too however I am more than happy watching ... mine burning in pretty oil burners and more than happy with the over 8 hours burn time I get from one and think that the wax tarts offer real value for money.
The Wax Tart:
Wax tarts come in a see though plastic wrapper with a label on the front of it telling us what it is and who it is by and there's a picture showing us slices of oranges and banana and some star anise then on the bottom of the tart we are told do's and dont's in the form of diagrams being shown, we are told to expect around 8 hours burn time ad that the tart weighs 32g and contact details for Yankee are given. Easy to tear off and dispose of packaging this is.
The tart itself is round in shape and cream in colour, quite thick and with no wick but Yankee is engraved into the top of it and it has fluted edges, you can snap one of these into bits to burn less or mix it or burn it on its own....which is what I prefer to so as I'm a bit of a purist!
All you do with this tart is pop it into the top of an oil burner and burn a tealight under it. The smell of this one is really apparent even before it starts to burn so its quite pungent this one and when heated it of course melts into a hot pool of liquid, you can burn this for as long or as little as you like and if you extinguish the tealight the remaining wax goes back to its solid state.
This tart is truly yummy and delicious and I have to admit I love this one and will definitely search it out to buy again. Yes its a tropical and fruity fragrance in the main this one and very refreshing and invigorating for me!
This has a lovely, rich blend of bananas, a slight citrus note and an undertone of vanilla and the top notes seem to be of cinnamon star anise and there is even a refreshing coconut hint as well. Its so well blended and at times I think all I can smell is vanilla, other times banana and sometimes its just blended and I happily got over 8 hours of burn time with this one (more like just over 9 hours in actual fact) and so rich was the scent that this wafted through all my large flat and lingered for about an hour and half after I'd stopped using it.
Tropical and juicy is the best description I can give it and I really do love the quality and longevity of this one and it gets a huge, no in fact MASSIVE thumbs up from me!
Available from all good stockists such as Clinton Cards, Homebase, Amazon and direct from the Yankeecandle.com, though Google and keep your eyes peeled if you want it! Read the complete review |

Yankee Candle A Child's Wish
by xxfoxyredxx
Just recently I stumbled across a few Yankee candle wax tarts that I hadn't seen or even heard of before so when I spotted this one with such a lovely name I decided to buy it as I love my home to smell as nice as it can of course!
The Tart:
Well the packaging of this is simple and on the front of the light green ... lump of rounded tart wax (with fluted edges to it) has a picture of a child on there blowing a flower and we are clearly told what it is and who it is by then on the base of the tart do's and don't are shown to us in diagram form, we are told that this should burn for 8 hours, weighs 32g and contact details for Yankee are clearly stated.
To use a wax tart all you do is snap it in half should you want to or melt the whole thing on its own in an oil burner with a tealight lit underneath it. This wax tart burns quickly and melts into a hot pool of liquid and you can burn this for as little or as long as you want to and if you choose to put it out the wax hardens back up to use next time.
The scent this gives off is subtle and to me smells very gently and naturally of grassy fields really with a hint of a floral fragrance to it too which is undistinctive to me to be homest and just really nice and pleasant. Yankee describe this scent as innocent and I have to admit that, that is an apt description because its a light, unfussy scent. However although I like this scent and found that I got 9 hours burn time from it and it was pleasant and heartwarming it wasn't scented quite strong enough for me and only scented the room I was in whilst lit then the fragrance pretty much vanished completely.
I can't quibble with the quality of this one and the scent when its burning is perfectly nice but this isn't one for me sadly due to it's lack of strength!
Available in Clinton Cars, Homebase, Amazon.com and Yankeecandle.com though do Google for the best prices and this scent is also available in different sized candles too. Read the complete review |
