Tesco Thick Bleach 24 Hour Pink
by basketofbuttons
I use tons of products from Tesco's own range and their Daisy range of cleaning products are just brilliant. I love the Daisy Thick 24 hour pink bleach they do. This costs only 69p at my Tesco Extra, for a large sized 750ml bottle. Apart from anything else, it's just nice to see bleach in a bright pink bottle for a change, instead of ... the usual blue it normally comes in.
The packaging of this bleach is great as it comes in a strong but very flexible plastic bottle which is curved at the top to allow me to be able to squire the bleach right up and under the rim of the toilet bowl. It also comes with a very good and highly effective child safety cap. I often have a bit of trouble getting the caps off myself, especially when they are new. The bleach is very thick, very strong and very effective. I use this at night and leave some in the toilet bowl, until I flush the following morning.
The results are fantastic and my toilet bowls are left looking and smelling fresh and clean. This bleach isn't pink in colour, as you might expect. It's 'normal' coloured pale yellow / cream but the difference is in the smell. My usual Domestos has a thick and heavy bleach smell to it, whereas this ones does smell of bleach, however, it also has a slight perfumed fragrance in the background, so it is a little bit more pleasant to use if you are one of those people who don't particularly like the smell of bleach.
The other thing I really like about this bleach s that it clings hard to the sides of the toilet bowl. It really is what I'd call thick bleach and it doesn't just run away down the inside of the toilet bowl as soon as it's applied. For only 69p a bottle I think it's fantastic value for money and it compares very favourably indeed with the branded bottles of bleach.
Another brilliant Tesco product. Read the complete review |

Asda Thick Lemon Bleach
by milmol7
Drains. I have a problem with drains. Since moving into my home about 18 months ago I have been troubled by the smell coming from my kitchen sink from time to time - as you can imagine, there's nothing worse. Plumbers can't tell me why, my clean free-flowing drains outside can't tell me why, dismantling the plughole and sink pipework ... can't tell me why, I certainly can't tell you why. But for this reason, when the smell comes, bleach is my friend. And plenty of bleach - I get through loads of the stuff. I bleach the sink after every washing up session to keep the smell at bay. My biggest problem is I really, really, REALLY don't like the smell of normal bleach! Fortunately these days there are a variety of fragranced bleaches available, and for the kitchen I favour lemon bleach - the pine ones are too bathroomy for me, but lemon is more suited to the kitchen.
At the moment I'm using some of this Asda thick bleach, as I tend to pick up whatever brands I see on offer. This particular bleach was on sale for £1 and had extra free, so I stocked up, and it is doing a great job. The bleach is dispensed from a pointed nozzle on the bottle (under the red safety cap) and although it will obviously run out of the nozzle if held upside down, it's so thick that what it really needs is a squeeze and good squirt to get to work!!
I find this bleach to be one of the thickest own-brand bleaches I've had. It's almost thick to the point of being gloopy. As such, you don't feel as though you need as much, so it's lasting very well. A 2 or 3 second squirt of this even takes quite a few more seconds to disappear down the plughole. This gives a great impression that it will take time to slither down my sink pipes and almost adhere to them, it really gives confidence in its performance. The lemonyness (word?) of the bleach definitely overpowers any bleach smell, and it leaves the kitchen smelling lovely and fresh.
I'm not going to pretend that I've become an Asda Thick Bleach evangelist because I can't have brand loyalty to a product which is purchased purely to washed away! Nevertheless this has definitely been one of the better bleaches I've used so I have no hesitation recommending and will stock up myself when I see it on offer again. Read the complete review |

Domestos Bleach Spray

The Product
= = = = = = =
The product I am reviewing is Domestos Multi-usage Bleach in the spray formula. The bleach spray can be used on a range of different surfaces including food preparation surfaces, kitchen, and bathroom and on many other washable surfaces. It can also be used on Stainless Steel, Enamel, Ceramic, ... Porcelain and Painted Wood. This product claims to leave surfaces brilliantly clean and with it's easy and convenient spray it means you can give your home a good clean whenever it needs it. The product comes in a dark blue bottle which has a trigger spray. The bottle is the typical Domestos colour and has a label on the front of the bottle stating the brand of the product and what the product is. On the back of the bottle it gives you some information about the product and how it should be used. It shows you some pictures on areas where you can use the bleach such as kitchen draining boards and the toilet basin. The trigger spray to the bottle is mainly red in colour and goes well with the dark blue bottle. Due to the slim design of the neck of the bottle this makes it easy to hold when spraying different surfaces to clean. I actually purchased this to use at work as we had just run out of cleaning spray and I wanted something good that would clean the old enamel sink in the kitchen area as it was looking rather grubby and dirty. The toilet could also do with a good wipe down as well and I thought this would be the perfect thing to clean the toilets with as well. I could also use this on the surfaces in the kitchen as well to ensure they stayed clean and germ free. The product cleans bacteria, viruses and mould so would be perfect for using on different surfaces at work and also around the home.

I purchased this from my local Pound land for yes . . You guessed it £1.00 which I thought was very reasonable and also good value as I expect it costs more if purchased from a supermarket such as Tesco or Sainsbury's. The product comes in a 500ml or 750ml bottle.
Using the Product

For old or worn enamel it states to test an area first, which is what I did. When using the product for the first time you need to turn the nozzle to the on position which means the product will now be released when the trigger is pulled down. As I pulled the trigger down a fine mist of the bleach landed on the enamel sink. I sprayed it a few times around the sink as the sink was rather large and also very dirty. As it was dirty I decided to spray and then leave it for a good 5/10 minutes before coming back to scrub it and rinse the bleach away. There was the obvious bleach smell to this product which can get overpowering in small areas so you may want to open the window to air the area out. I came back to the sink approximately 10mins later or less and then using gloves on my hands scrubbed the sink. The dirt was coming off the sink very easily and it was already looking much cleaner than it had done before. After I finished scrubbing I gave the sink a final rinse and looked at the results. The sink was so much cleaner than it was before and due to the slight bleach smell it also smelt cleaner as well. I was really impressed that the bleach had managed to clean the old enamel sink that looked like it was beyond the cleaning stage. I have also used the spray on the outside of the toilet basin which was a little dirty and on the toilet seats as well and this makes the toilet really clean and shiny. As well as using it in these areas I also use it on the worktops in the kitchen. I normally spray this directly onto the work surface in the kitchen and using a damp cloth to wipe the surface down. I find that the spray leaves a number of different surfaces looking clean and shiny and due to the bleach smell it leaves them smelling clean as well.
Overall Opinion

I did have high hopes of this product when I purchased it, especially as it's a Domestos brand which is well known and has been around for a good number of years. In terms of the product cleaning I think it does a fantastic job and is much better than some of these other cleaning products that are available to purchase. Although the product does have the typical bleach smell, I think this does give a clean feeling to the area that it has been used on. In terms of value I think the product was very good value for a 500ml and I would definitely go to my local Pound Shop to purchase it again. As I had the chance to test the product in my work place I have now decided to also purchase this for the home as I am so impressed with the way it cleans and leaves surfaces. I would definitely recommend this product to others.
