Tesco Everyday Value Bio Liquid Wash
by k2705
I'm never brand loyal with household products and often go for whatever is on offer, this is always the case with washing products, and on a recent shopping trip I opted for Tesco Everday Value Biological Concentrated Laundry Liquid, at just £1.60 for 1 litre its certainly good value, I didn't fancy using this on Jayden's clothes and ... bedding but decide to try it on the rest of my laundry.
The washing liquid is sold in a white plastic bottle with a built in handle, the lid is a simple screw top cap which doubles up as the measuring cap. The label on the front shows the Tesco Everyday Logo and informs the customer that this laundry liquid is "formulated for effective stain removal and the bottle will give you 28 washes". The rest of the label is taken up with little pictures of laundry related items such as clothes, irons, washing machines and laundry baskets, these are all done in various shades of green.
The back of the bottle gives all the usual information you would expect to find on a product like this such as directions for use, storage, ingredients and also a few warnings which are really just common sense, all of this is written clearly and is easy to read.
The actual liquid is a green/blue colour, is reasonably thick and has quite a pleasant floral smell. I was actually surprised at how thick it was, being a basic product I did wonder if it might be slightly watery but this wasn't the case.
The directions advice using 35ml's of liquid ( 1 capful) for one load of regular washing, the washing liquid can be put in the drawer of the machine or in a ball type dispenser directly into the drum. I personally prefer to use a dispenser directly into the drum, I also only ever use half the amount of liquid stated, unless I have an extremely dirty football kit to wash, and I did wonder if this would be enough of this cheap liquid.
I have used a good half of my Everyday Value Washing Liquid now and so far I've been really pleased. All my laundry is clean and smells fresh, as I mentioned I usually only use half the amount suggested and its been perfectly adequate. As I mentioned I don't use this on Jayden's clothes so I cant really comment on how this would stand up to messy baby clothes, bibs etc, but for Marks and my clothes, bed linen and towels its fine.
I have used it neat to rub into a tomato sauce stain on the front of Marks work shirt before I popped it into the machine and it removed the stain completely, neither of us have suffered any irritation from our clothes and bedding being washed in the value liquid either.
If you are on a budget and looking for a good washing liquid then I would certainly recommend trying Tesco Everyday Washing Biological Liquid, for everyday laundry its ideal, it delivers good results and wont break the bank. Read the complete review |

Daz Violet Blossom Blast Concentrated
by PerfectPeaches
When it comes to buying laundry products I have no loyalty with brands as I either tend to buy what I have used before and that I like or I buy whatever is on offer and hope that they will be a good product. One of these bargain buys was made in my local Tesco at the cost of £2.00 for a bottle of Daz Violet Blossom Blast Liquid which had ... been reduced from £4.50 which I thought was a really good buy.
Daz is a household brand name that I think most of us when we hear of Daz we associate with the whiter than white phrase as well as those god awful television adverts. Daz does however do other products including their 'liquid' range which where the Violet Blossom Blast is from. They have two other varieties which were also reduced but I preferred the thought of violets hence my purchase.
========
What is it?
========
Daz Violet Blossom Blast is as I said a part of their liquid range which is as they claim "great for colours". It is of course a liquid so it easy to measure in the measuring cap it comes with and of course will dissolve quickly once the washing machine cycle has started. It is however, also suitable for pre-treating stains, hand washing as well as quick wash programmes and will give the same results whichever method you choose.
=======
Packaging
=======
Daz Violet Blossom Blast comes in a bright magenta/purple coloured plastic bottle which is not transparent so you cannot see the liquid itself. On the front the label is just as colourful with purple floral images together with the large Daz logo. On the back there is information about the product together with usage directions, ingredients and contact information.

To use the Daz liquid you simply add 1 capful per wash into your washing machine drawer. I live in a hard water area and still only use 1 capful as it is concentrated and I don't use it on heavily soiled clothing (my partners football clothing) as I tend to only use it on clothes that just need a wash rather than those that have a few marks or stains.
The Daz Violet Blossom Blast is a deep violet colour which isn't transparent and has quite a thick consistency although not overly thick whereby you can't pour it out of the bottle but it is not as thin like a fabric conditioner. It does have a lovely floral fragrance to it which is really nice and although it wasn't a typical violet aroma it was still incredibly pleasant, I just hoped it would stay.
After putting a load of washing on and waiting for the cycle to finish I opened the door and was disappointed that I didn't notice a distinct fragrance at all. What I had originally smelt in the bottle had all but vanished. After smelling the clothes I could vaguely smell the very typical smell of freshly washed clothes but there was nothing floral about it which was a real shame.
However, despite the lack of fragrance on the clothes the Daz liquid had managed to wash my clothes adequately and any little marks (mainly from my daughter putting her sticky little hands on me) had disappeared. When dry the fragrance was still unnoticeable which was a real shame but my clothes managed to stay incredibly soft and were obviously well washed which I think is a good point really.

Overall
=====
Yes, my clothes were looked after and washed well which of course is what you want with a laundry product. However, when you buy a fragranced product you do expect the fragrance to stay around and linger especially on the clothes. This one however has let me down somewhat as the aroma vanishes and I may as well have purchased a non-fragranced concentrated liquid and I probably wouldn't have been so disappointed.
Overall, I would recommend as it manages to wash clothes well and care for them but only buy it if it is on offer as I think the full price is just too expensive. Unfortunately, I can only give it 3 stars.
