... way to cook also as the ridges mean that any fat that comes from the meat falls to the bottom. We love our pan, and use it very regulalrly, so it s certainly been a worthwhile addition to our kitchen. Much prefer it to regular frying as the fat is removed, although it is heavy. Le Creuset Steaming Basket ... Le Creuset steamer basket fits all their saucepans, by having a few ridges in the base of the basket that allow it to sit into each of the pans, so that it can be used with any of them. THis means that you can get away with just having one that will do everything. The great benefit of this steamer, is that you just place it over a pan of water, but I always make sure that there is something else like potatoes cooking beneath, so that it will save you money, when compared with an electric steamer. Made out of solid stainless steel, so easy to wash etc., and the holes in the base are a decent size to allow the steam through, but you won t lose food through them. There i... Le Creuset Tagine ... this, and the meat is terrifically juicy and flavourful. You can use the cast iron base as a regualr frying pan, to saute the onions, peppers, spices etc., and then just add your liquid; stock, tomatoes etc and whatever meat you re using (lamb, chicken etc). The top works by allowing the moisture to stay within the dish but collecting the steam and the water returning to the base pan by dripping down the funnel shaped top. Works best with heat from beneath rather than in an oven. Easy to wash and clean. Only downside as with all Le Creuset products is that it s very heavy, and so you have to be prepared to deal with that - not good for people who have issues lifting.... Le Creuset Omelette Pan ... is a fab little addition to any kitchen. Ours is in the grey granite colour to go with the rest of our Le Creuset stuff. It is made of the quality (and heavy!) cast iron that all the Le Creuset metal ware is made of, except this was the addition of a very hard wearing non stick surface. The non stick is so good you don t really need to use any oil, except of you want it for flavour. I do all my fried eggs and omlette s in this pan and have never had any problems with sticking, the omlette s especially just slide straight out into the plate!
