Tesco Ironing Water
by Whizz11
I don't really enjoy ironing but its something that I have to do if I want my husband and kids and myself to look nice in our clothes. I often iron my husbands work shirts and a lot of my kids clothes and one thing that makes it easier is by using ironing water. Ironing water really helps to iron out creases better than if you don't use ... it and what I also like about it is that it has a nice smell which it transfers onto the clothes and makes them smell nice and fresh too.
If you spend a lot of timing ironing a shirt and then it looks and feels really stiff and not very ironied at all I think it s a complete waste of time. I never iron without ironing water now as I find it makes the final look of the clothes much better and also softens them up a bit and makes the fabric a bit better too. You should never put regular water into a iron water filter as this causes lots of limescale to build up inside your iron and makes it not work as well so you do have to use proper ironing water to make sure you look after your iron. That's why sometimes it may seem silly to spend money on something that comes "free" but its much better to purchase this.
This ironing water from Tesco comes in a big 1 litre bottle so does last quite a long while because I only spray on a few sprays per shirt or item of clothing and I don't think much water is used when you press the steam button on the iron. It has a screw cap at the top and then it has a little scooped shaped top to it so I find it very easy to pour the water straight from this into my iron. I usually don't spill anything except when I get too close to the top of the iron capacity as it steams over the side of the iron. The instructions are to not pour it into the iron resevoir when it is switched on I usually run out of water half way through ironing something so always fill it up when its switched on, oops.
The ironing water comes in a spring petals smell, a nice light floral smell of pink roses in my opinion and I think its a ncie scent to iron with as it makes clothes smell nice and fresh. The smell doesn't stay on clothes like a fabric conditioner smell would but its enough in the beginning to give your clothes a nice fresh clean smell for the start of the day. A 1 litre bottle or Tesco ironing water costs just £1.15 which in my opinion is really good value and a product I will continue to buy. Read the complete review |

Tesco Everyday Value Dishcloths
by linzeelou
Generally for washing up I will use really cheap scourer pads or J cloths. However, I find that sometime J cloths especially don't do the job well enough so I decided to try a different kind of washing up cloth. As I do the majority of my shopping online from Tesco, I bought Tesco Everyday Value Dishcloths. As these are a Tesco Everyday ... Value product they are only available in store or online. For a pack of 5 dishcloths you can expect to pay 75p which equals 15p each.
The packaging is very cheap looking and basic but this is what I always expect from this range. I don't mind the packaging though as I always empty things like this out straight away and put the packaging in the bin. The plastic packaging is really cheap and when I opened these for the first time, I ripped the plastic so much I had to throw it away anyway. Although this is a value product, the packaging could possibly be a little better so you can at least keep the cloths in there.
The dishcloths are white in colour and slightly more of a rectangular shape than square. The material is quite thin but soft at the same time. Because of this, you can feel that the cloths won't scratch or scape any of your crockery when washing them with this which is always a good first impression to have of a dishcloth. These dishcloths work really well on regular washing up as well as for cleaning down kitchen surfaces etc. They hold water well but are also easy to rinse out with a quick twist and squeeze.
I have never put these through the washing machine so I'm not sure how well they would fare. I have been throwing these away once they get a little disgusting looking but on average, they've lasted at least a week each. For the price, I can't complain about these dishcloths and think I'll be buying them from now often instead of J cloths. Read the complete review |

Tesco Value Toilet Tissue
by ladyradley
My husband brought back this packet of toilet roll when he went shopping- I knew there was a reason why I normally am the one to go shopping!
He said he bought it because it was very cheap and what was the point in spending more money on something which you just use to flush down the toilet. When we used it we could both see ... exactly why we do spend money on something which you just flush down the toilet! This toilet tissue is awful!
In the pack you got 12 rolls and it was no frills so the packaging was really boring and the tissue roll was worse. It is kind of off-white in colour which isn't appealing in the first place, it's not as if it's cream but more like a dirty white.
It is very rough to touch, it didn't feel it at first but then when we used it it was. Even blowing our noses on this would hurt as it's so rough, it's definitely not gentle against skin.
The pieces of tissue don't stay together so although it's got two pieces of tissue thick it doesn't really come like this as they fall away from each other. It is also not very absorbent you end up needing to use more of it to make it absorbent but it's also rough so it's not very nice to use at all.
We used this and then didn't buy anymore! It is really not a nice kind of toilet roll at all and I can see why it's mainly only students who buy this now. I guess it's nice that there are cheaper alternatives for people but this isn't something I'll be buying again! Read the complete review |
