Wilko Cleaning Scrubbing Brush Soft Grip

I'm quite lazy when it comes to mopping my floors, I only have lino the downstairs bathroom and kitchen and upstairs in the bathroom. The upstairs tends to get left out as it means dragging the mop up and down the stairs. That was until I purchased this scrubbing brush.
The scrubbing brush is a Wilko own brand product so can ... only be purchased from Wilkinson stores or from their online website. It can currently be picked up for £1.85.
The scrubbing brush looks quite typical of most other scrubbing brushes that feature a handle. The brush is made out of plastic and has a soft grip, almost cushioned, handle. The bristles are also made out of plastic and have quite a wavy shape to them; the amount of bristles on the brush is great as it means you can get a really good clean with it. If anyone really cares about the appearance of a scrubbing brush then you'll be pleased to know this does look quite good on the eye being different shades of blue. The size of the brush is about standard I think, I wasn't a scrubbing brush user before this one so cannot be sure! It's around 15cm long, 8cm wide and to the top of the handle, around 7cm high.
The brush is easy to use, as I said I use this on my upstairs bathroom floor and think the results are great. I tend to use a bleach and water mix on the floor to give it a good clean. The cushioning of the brush handle means the brush isn't uncomfortable to hold while putting in a bit of elbow grease. The plastic bristles are quite stiff but this means it gives a good clean. The whole process is easy and trouble free and I find it does give my bathroom floor a good clean and leaves it looking sparkling.
I've had my scrubbing brush since last summer and despite using it quite a lot, I still find it's in a great condition. The bristles do look a little worn, but it still cleans just as good as it did when I first used it. None of the bristles have fallen out from what I've noticed.
I think the price would be about right for a plastic scrubbing brush and I would recommend it. It is made to a high standard and continues to give good results despite the bristles looking a little worn now.

Wilkinsons Red Starburst Wallpaper

We've had this wallpaper in our lounge and dining room since we moved in about 18 months ago. At the time we were desperately trying to make the house habitable so we could move in as soon as possible, but our budget was limited so rather than going for top of the range stuff we opted for cheaper versions. As it turns out, this ... wallpaper is one of my favourite features in our house, and it receives many compliments from visitors.
Our living room and dining room are separated by wooden glass doors, and to make the most of our living space we tend to leave these doors open and use both rooms, rather than leaving the dining room for just special occasions. We have fireplaces at both ends of this living space, and we were looking for some wallpaper to use as a feature on the fireplace walls. We opted for red as we have a lot of dark wood in the rooms, and this gives it a warm feel, and also a bit of a "regal" look at Wilkinsons prices!
The wallpaper costs £9.97 per roll, which is good value, especially if you have high ceilings like us and tend to find it costs a fortune to decorate each room. The dimensions of the roll are 10.05m x 53cm. I can't remember how many we used now but needless to say it's comparable to other brands in terms of how much you get on a roll. As a guide, the Wilkinsons website suggests it will cover an area of around 5.3 square metres.
The description of this wallpaper is floral in pattern, and it falls under the category of feature wallpapers on the Wilkinsons website. I would say this is worth paying attention to, because an entire room in this wallpaper might be a bit too much. We have this on our fireplace walls in both the living and dining rooms, and the remaining walls are painted magnolia.
The colour of this wallpaper is lovely, it's more crimson than red, and gives off a really warm homely feeling. This is enhanced by the floral pattern, which is mainly gold, and again adds to the warmth of this wallpaper. It goes absolutely perfectly with our dark wood fireplaces, and is exactly what we were looking for as we were trying to keep the original features in our very old house, rather than painting everything cream and making it "contemporary".
Applying this wallpaper was fairly easy, the pattern requires some matching but as the pattern is quite large it's easy to match, rather than fiddly small flowers it has large flowers. The pattern repeats every 53cm, although I'm not sure how useful this information is, as I'm sure most people follow our approach to wallpapering which is slap it on the wall and hope for the best. The paper feels thick as you apply it, not thin or flimsy like some can be.
The wallpaper is still in good condition after 18 months, with no peeling or curling at the edges. It is actually spongeable, and we have wiped it a couple of times after having heavy construction work done at the house. Generally I don't go so far as to sponge down wallpaper, but after having walls knocked down during our renovation work, nothing feels clean unless it's attacked from every angle.
I love this wallpaper, and am very happy we chose it for our living and dining rooms. It makes an excellent feature wall, and I've lost count of the number of people who have walking in and the first thing they've commented on is how much they like the wallpaper. I think this is one of the rare occasions where paying less doesn't necessarily mean compromising on quality.
