Yankee Candle Pink Dragon Fruit
by CosmicLove
A few months ago I bought a mixed bundle of ten Yankee candle wax tarts from Amazon. Included in this bundle was the fragrance Pink Dragon Fruit. This immediately caught my eye and stood out from a majority of the other tarts as it is a lovely, very pretty shade of pink. The fragrance is also available in votive, tumbler, tea light and ... jar form. As I said I have it in wax tart form and this usually retails at £1.25.
As I bought mine as part of a bundle it worked out a little cheaper but I think that the full price is still a complete and utter bargain and the tart provides hours and hours of fragrance - Yankee claim eight hours per tart, and I find that the fragrance is no longer noticeable after around three days of burning it for 2-3 hours each time.
The wax tart comes wrapped in a clear wrapper and it has a paper label on the front which has the fragrance name on it and a picture of some dragon fruit, which looks really nice. Using the tart is easy and I place it in my tart burner, light a tea light and place the tea light under it and the wax begins to melt, releasing the gorgeous fragrance. The fragrance takes about 3 minutes to become noticeable and it soon fills the room.
Yankee candle describe the scent as being colourful, adventurous, intriguing and tropical. I was expecting this to be quite an exotic scent but it smells surprisingly generic in my opinion with the usual sweet and fruity scent that a majority of other fragrances have - nothing really stands out about it, but it is still really nice and in my opinion it's quite uplifting as it reminds me of summer.
It's a fresh smell and although its extremely sweet it is not quite sickly as it has a slight floral tone to it which I think helps prevent it from smelling too sweet. It is still a very girly smell though and it is not one that I burn when my fiancé is home as he always complains that it is too sweet!
All in all I do like this fragrance however it doesn't really have a distinctive smell and it is quite generic in my opinion. It is still a lovely smell though and I love how sweet the fragrance is. Four out of five stars. Read the complete review |

Yankee Candle Chocolate Bunnies
by CosmicLove
My fiancé knows that I like Yankee candles and he often sees me scouring the website for new and interesting scents so I actually wasn't that surprised when he gave me a large jar of the chocolate bunnies fragrance just before Easter.
Having only tried a couple of the more 'foodie' scents I was completely mesmerised when he ... gave it to me because I had no idea that there was a chocolate flavoured Yankee scent! I was actually a bit skeptical and I wasn't sure how realistic it would smell but as soon as I lifted the lid off I was in heaven!
I didn't actually want to burn it, I just wanted to keep it on the kitchen side and sniff it whenever I craved chocolate haha. In the end though I did burn it and it smells just as good whafting through the air. It completely fills the room with the smell of chocolate but one thing I've noticed is that it doesn't really travel through the rooms like other scents do, and it isn't as strong smelling which in my opinion is good because if it was any stronger it would be sickly and it'd ruin the fragrance.
Yankee candle describe the fragrance of Chocolate Bunnies as being pure, rich and creamy. I was expecting a very overpoweringly sweet and chocolatey scent but although the smell is sweet it is quite subtle (but I think people who aren't used to or aren't keen on sweet fragrances could find it a little sickly) and it kind of smells like a chocolate cake does while its baking in the oven (think chocolate devil's cake or chocolate brownies).
It is mouthwateringly good and I really wish I had the money to buy a million more jars of it! The smell doesn't linger for a huge amount of time like some of the different Yankee candle fragrances do, and it is usually undetectable within an hour of putting the candle out. A large jar of this retails at £20 which is so expensive, but it is worth it. After over two months of burning it regularly for an hour or so a day the jar is just under 1/4 full.
I don't burn this as much as I do the fresher fragrances mainly because I prefer to light this when I have guests over as they always comment on how nice the smell is and it makes my home smell really cosy. It is the perfect scent to burn whilst relaxing in front of a movie and my fiancé loves the smell just as much as I do!
Five out of five stars- I love it! Read the complete review |

Yankee Candle Fruit Fusion
by CosmicLove
This fragrance is one that I came across whilst I was recently visiting a friend. She had a tart in the burner and it smelt absolutely delicious, and I asked her which fragrance it was - turns out it was 'fruit fusion' which isn't a fragrance I had heard of before. Pretty much as soon as I got home I ordered it in the form of several wax ... tarts, and I was tempted to buy the large glass jar too but in the end I decided against it because the jars are so expensive!
It also comes in the form of tea lights and tumblers but as I said before I purchased it in wax tart form which are just discs of wax with pleated edges. I bought my tarts from amazon as this fragrance is out of stock on the Yankee candle website and I paid £2 for each one. The retail price is usually £1.20 but I didn't mind paying a little more and it is still good value as each tart provides (on average) eight hours of fragrance.
This particular tart is a nice orange colour and it comes wrapped in cellophane with a little plastic label. The label has the name of the fragrance written on it with pictures of several different fruits on it - oranges, limes and strawberries. Burning the wax tart is simple, but if you have never used a wax tart before you may find the lack of wick a little confusing, so I should probably explain how to burn it! You need a tart burner and you simply place the tart into the burner's bowl then a place a tea light underneath.
The bowl will quickly heat up and the tart will begin to melt and release the fragrance. Yankee candle describe this fragrance as a sunny fruit blend which is refreshing, tart and sweet. From their description I think people will be expecting a well balanced fragrance, but it is actually more on the sweet side. It does have a citrusy undertone but I find that this can be easily overpowered by the strong smell of the sweet strawberries and surprisingly the lime is a really sweet scent - kind of like how fruit flavoured sweets smell.
It isn't the most natural smelling Yankee candle fragrance in my opinion, but it isn't overly artificial either. The fragrance reminds me of being a lot younger and eating sweet so with friends at my old house during the summer holidays - strange what memories certain smells bring back isn't it! My fiancé doesn't like this smell as he thinks its too girly so I tend to burn it when he's at work but because it lingers for so long he can still smell it when he gets home even if I've distinguished the tea light several hours previously.
It is perfect for making the house smell homely and fresh and it completely masks smells which makes it perfect for burning after I have cooked and it stops the room from smelling like stale food. The smell travels through most of the house and I find that I can easily get around three to four days of use out of it, burning it for 2 or so hours at a time so it is great value for money.
All in all I recommend this fragrance but the strongness, girliness & sweetness of it may not appeal to some people. I am going to knock one star off because it does smell a little artificial and my fiancé doesn't like it. Read the complete review |
