When it comes to washing I admit to being a real fuss pot. I love washing and the feeling of clean and tend to do an awful lot of it. My clothing doesn't get very dirty really and the reason for that is because I don't tend to wear clothes above ten minutes before changing them! However being not a very well person I tend to spend alot of of time in bed, eating and drinking and watching dvds or writing reviews and my bedding does suffer for my bad habits with food stains and grease on them which really does my head in cos like I have said I spend alot of time in bed and so usually buy quite expensive and designer bedding.

I used to buy on the spot stain removers and things and found them very hit and miss indeed and very time consuming to use and for things like curries the stains usually didn't budge at all. I was spending a fortune weekly and more often than not parting with bedding I just wasn't happy to keep!

So when I spotted this for a Pound in my local Poundland I bought it. I have to admit I didn't expect very much from it to be honest as its something you put in a wash with your usual detergent and fabric softener and the likes but for a mere quid I thought it was very worth a try and at the time I had a white (well it was once!) mattress topper that had seen better days and was ready for the bin to be honest and so when I saw this I decided it would go in the wash opposed to the bin and on a wash to see if I could save it!

The Packaging:

My bottle is a frosted green coloured plastic bottle with a green measuring cap that twists on/off the top of it and it has an integrated handle to the left hand side of it. On the front of the bottle we are told that it is Ace 'Gentle' Stain Remover and that it has a new and improved stain removal for bright colours, is approved by Woolmark and is for colours & delicates and is 1L in size. On the back of the bottle we are told how to use it, warnings are given as are the ingredients and contact details for the manufacturer are listed. Nice, easy to handle and informative bottle this is and I do appreciate the integrated handle this has to it which makes it easier for me to use it.

Using It:

This is so simple to use. We are told to use 1 cap full in our detergent drawer along with our usual detergent and add fabric softener if you wish and select your programme and away you go. You can use this for hand washing too and on the back of the bottle we are told that this is so gentle you can even pour it in the heart of your wash.

The liquid is thin, dark green and transparent and it has a nice sort of sweet soapy smell to it really. It doesn't smell of flowers or fruit really but it is a nice, fresh smell to it that I really like.

I have found this to be completely fantastic and I love it...so much so I went back to Poundland the following day after using it 3 times on my bedding and bought 5 bottles so I don't run out any time soon!

I popped this in a 40c wash with the filthy and grotty mattress topper I mentioned earlier with decent washing detergent and all the marks including very old grease stains came out of it and it seriously came out looking as good as new and no one could of been more shocked than I was lol.

What makes this brill is that even though I use detergent and fabric softener in my washes I can detect a slight fragrance of this and not only is it superb at removing new and fresh stains such as dirt, grease, blood and strong tea this also is highly effective at removing ground in and old ones without affecting the colours of items at all.

I now use this in every wash. It really is mild and gentle where you require it to be but seems to hate every stain I throw at it. The other day my hamster bit me, I poured of blood all over my white top and out the stain came. Course you need to select the right temperature and cycle for your wash that goes without saying but this really is a must have particularly for people who do get very dirty washing and if I had a family I'd demand this product to be sold in my local supermarket (which it isn't sadly!).

The only negative I have found with this is that it really isn't very widely available for some reason which is a shame because I would pay whatever I needed to get hold of this to be honest and although it is a rather large looking bottle you need rather alot of product per wash whih means you get about (at an estimate) about 10 washes!

Google if interested of course to find a stockist but do keep your eyes open in discount stores for it, I'm sure you'll feel like I do about this amazing product!
