Addis Over Bath Airer
Advantages: Good price, sturdy, makes clothes drying easy
Disadvantages: Clothes can't dry properly when fully loaded
When my youngest daughter was about a year old she used to have an issue with me drying clothing on a large airer in the front room and she would constantly pull over the clothes airer which obviously could quite easily cause an injury. Last year as we were nearing winter and my youngest daughter had reached a year old and was just as mischievous as her sister had been I began to wonder how I was going to dry clothes in the winter.
I was having a mooch on the Amazon site as I had some credit in my account and I came across this airer, the airer costs me about £15 last year and it came with free delivery. I felt this was a decent price although would have been able to get similar elsewhere but when you have an Amazon balance it just has to be spent!
The idea of the airer is that it sits over the top of your bathtub so that your clothing hangs down into your bath whilst it dries. The airer is made of thin metal poles covered in white plastic, the airer has little feet on the bottom which are angled so that they sit flat on the sides of the bath when it is in place. The airer has a 10 metre drying area apparently but to be honest I only hang about 4 adult garments on it to give them plenty of room to air as when I have fully filled the airer I have found it takes longer for the clothes to dry and occasionally have found that clothing has started to smell before fully drying.
The airer folds up when not in use and it is very easy to fold as it just folds in half, it isn't too bulky when folded and sits happily behind my bedroom door without causing an obstruction. The airer is sturdy, we have used it for over about a year now and the rungs are all still straight and a lot of the time I use the airer for drying jeans which are obviously heavy.
I would recommend this airer it makes the winter months easier to deal with and it isn't in the way being over the bath and best of all I know my children aren't going to get flattened by a mass of washing.
Summary: A great winter must
