Advantages: Long lasting natural fragrance
Disadvantages: Expensive
I don't have an extractor fan in my kitchen and so unless I open the kitchen window (which it's far too cold to do at this time of year), the smells of whatever I've been cooking tend to filter through my entire flat. That wouldn't be too bad if I had been baking something nice, like bread or a chocolate cake, but when it's something stronger like curry or fried food, I don't want the smell lingering around for days on end. I do occasionally use some of those 'odour neutralising' sprays, but I usually just plug in my favourite air freshener, which is Ambi Pur 3volution.
~About 3volution~
3volution is a plug in air freshener with a diffrerence. Instead of one fragrance, it has three, and the scent changes every 45 minutes. Once your nose is used to a certain fragrance you stop noticing it so much, so the idea is, that these scents change regularly, so that you can always smell the air freshener.
~The Unit~
The actual air freshener itself is a white plug in unit, with three little windows through which you can see the bottles of fragrance and 3 holes at the top for the fragrance to escape from. Although when you buy the air freshener you are supplied with three bottles of your chosen fragrance, you can also buy refills once it is empty. There is a control on the side of the unit, where you can ajust the strength of the fragrance from min-max.
One criticism I do have is that the unit is quite bulky and unattractive to look at. It measures about 3.5 inches high, 3 inches wide, and sticks out of the wall about 1.5 inches.I guess that there may not be any way of making it smaller, but perhaps they could have made it a more attractive design.
~The Fragrances~
There are 4 different fragrance collections, each recognisable by the colour of their packaging and each containing three complimentary fragrances. The collections are seaside breezes, Fresh new day, Heavenly flowers and Oriental Dreams. They also sometimes bring out special seasonal fragrances, such as a winter collection or spring flowers.
~What I think~
I bought the collection of fragrances called 'Fresh new day', but I have also used another set in the past - I forget which though. I have used lots of other plug in air fresheners, but I think this is by far the best one. It's great that you can adjust the strength of the scent, because you can have it on minimum for when you just want a subtle background fragrance and use max for when you have been cooking and things like that.
You really can tell when the fragrance changes - all of a sudden you get this waft of fragrance from the unit, so it really does work. The fragrances all smell great too - it used to be that air fresheners came in either lavender or pine only, but these are more like perfumes, and smell natural and not too overpowering.
~Price~
This isn't the cheapest option as it costs £7.99 for the unit (which comes with the three fragrances included) and then £4.19 for refills. This is in Wilkinsons, you may be able to find them cheaper elsewhere.
~Summary~
Like I said, this is my favourite air freshener, because the fragrance changes so often, you can smell it all through the day. Also the three fragrances in each set are of high quality and don't have those horrible synthetic smells that cheaper air fresheners have. I would definately recommend this air freshener, as it is so far, the best one I have found.
Summary: Fabulous Fragrances
