Advantages: Can always smell it, good variety of fragrances

Disadvantages: Initially it can be expensive to buy holder

I moved into my house four years ago and it has taken since then to totally redecorate and get the house looking how I want it. Since the house is now exactly how I wanted it, I like to try and take a pride in its appearance. One way I do this, is to make sure my house always smells nice.
I have tried various plug ins and found them all to do their job but I have to admit to being quite interested in the new Ambi Pur 3volution when I saw an advert on the TV for it.

What Is 3volution?
Ambi Pur 3Volution is similar to all the other plug in air fresheners on the market except that this one has three fragrances instead of just the one. The idea is that our noses become used to just one smell so with other plug in air fresheners, after a while, you tend not to notice the smell of them in the room. With Ambi Pur 3volution, because the smell switches between the three different fragrances within the plug in every 45 minutes, you always notice the scent in your room.
What Does The Plug In Look Like?
It looks fairly similar to any other plug in except that the 3volution one has three bottle of scent attached to the plug in. The plug in itself is white and slightly bigger than a normal plug in simply because it needs to house three bottle of scent instead of one. The plug in is about 3 inches high by 2 inches deep by 4 inches wide.
The three bottles of fragrance are 20ml in size and the bottle are made of glass with each bottle having its own lid.
On the side of the plug in is a sliding button which allows you to alter the strength of the plug in.

Setting Up The Plug In
This bit is nice and easy; you just have to remove the lids from the top of the three bottles of fragrance and then pop each bottle into the plug in. Then, simply plug it into a socket. You will know the unit is working because a red light will come on. One thing I quite like about this air freshener is that the light moves as the fragrance changes so you can always tell which fragrance is being pumped into the room.
Cost
The whole unit (which includes the plug in and the three bottle of fragrance) costs £7.99 which initially I thought was really expensive. But once you have bought the plug in, the re-fills are slightly cheaper at £4.48 for the three bottles of fragrance. This product claims that if used on the maximum setting, the fragrance will last for 90 days and so far, with mine being on the medium setting it has lasted longer than this.

Varieties
There are seven different varieties of the 3volution plug ins and they are all colour coded. The seven varieties are Heavenly Flowers which is baby pink, Fresh New Day which is pale green, Spring Flowers which is bright pink, Winter Collection which is cream, Spring Gardens which is dark green, Seaside Breezes which is blue and Oriental Dreams which is orange.
What Did I Think Of It?
These plug ins are the best ones I have ever come across out of all the ones I have used. Every time I enter the house, I am greeted by the lovely smell of the plug in. I have a plug in in my living room and one in the bedroom and the scent from each of them can easily be smelt in the surrounding rooms. The one from the front room can be smelt when you enter the house which is pretty good going considering it is plugged in down the hallway from the entrance of the house. A higher setting than medium can lead to such an overpowering smell which can be quite unpleasant because it is just so strong.

Summary
I would definitely recommend this product and I can't fault it in any way except that they are a little bit expensive. Having said that though, although initially they seem quite expensive with the holder costing nearly £8, these holders do last for ages and the re-fills ate slightly cheaper that the entire plug in.
The one thing you do need to be careful of is that you keep an eye on hw much liquid is left as if the freshener runs out, the holder can get warm and the nib of it dries out and may not be able to be used again - meaning you will have to buy another holder. It is very easy to keep an eye on how much liquid you have left though as the refill is made from glass and you can easily see how much liquid there is left.
One more thing, be very careful with the plug in. For example, sometimes I take the plug in out for a while to plug in something else i.e., the hoover and you need to be very careful where you place the plug in. It doesn't balance very well and if it falls over then it will stain carpets, furniture etc so make sure you are careful.

Summary: The best plug in that I have used

I had one of the single ones but my boyfriend hated it. Sometimes the best thing to do it to open a window to air the room. These diffusers just mask away bad smells.
