There are so many plug in air fresheners available on the market, and they are all quite expensive, its hard to choose which one you should go for. Over the years, I have tried many and I have never been completely happy with any of them for various reasons. Having a big dog, its important to me that my house smells clean and fresh and not doggy, so I am prepared to pay a little more if I can find the suitable product.

I actually spent 15 minutes when I was looking at air fresheners and found myself suffering from cognitive dissonance, as I could not make up my mind of which one to go for, when I decided I actually went back and changed my mind, and I am really pleased that I did.

Ambi Pur 3volution consist of a plug in socket that you pop into the wall, and three small bottle of frangrance that are inserted into the bottom of the plug, the same kind of style as any plug in, its just quite a lot bigger as it takes three fragrances.

The idea behing Ambi Pur 3volution is that i consists of three different fragrances as opposed to one. Normally when you use one, you get used to the fragrance and cannot actually smell it yourself, the good thing with 3volution is it rotates 3 different fragrances very similar however slightly distinctive that they are not the same, every 45 minutes so that you can always smell the fragrance as you do not get used to the same one all the time.

At the top of the plug in, it had three small holes and little lights, if the light is on above the hole, the distinguishes which of the three fragrances is coming out at the particular moment. The bottle are quite tiny that are inserted into the bottom, however when you use three it does last quite a long time. I have had my continuously plugged in for 4 weeks now and the frangrance is only half way down.

This product gives you reassurance that you house smells nice, you can smell it all around, however its a lot more poignant when you are closer to it. IT goes have various settings on the outer casing 1 - 5 on the strength that you want it to come out at.

The cost in the region of £8, that is for the dispenser, which is re-usable and a set of three fragrances. The re-fills cost £5 each but are well worth it. You will find that the complete kit is sometimes on special offer and you can pick the whole thing up for just £5.

I have only tried one up to yet, however there are around the region of 6 different versions that you can try. The one in particular that I have smells very much like spring, mowed lawns and delicate flowers, and one of the scents that does come out smells very much like Elizabeth Arden Sunflowers perfurme, which is a pleasure to smell.

Comparison Against The Competition

Haze Airwick

Normally you can obtain these on special offer as you can with most plug in room odouriser. The fragrances that they give off are in general very nice, apart from the Lavendar one that I find to be disgusting. However, they don't seem to last as long as they say they do on the packaging, and I have found no matter what setting you have it on, it seems to disappear pretty quickly, which is not very cost effective.

7/10

Glade Plug In

Again you can purchase these on special offer, and also on some of the fragrances you can buy them as a duo pack which are a little more cost effective. Although they do last a long time, some up to two months is you do not have them continuously on, I do find that I can smell the fragrance as much as some of the others on the market.

Ambi Pur 3volution

By far the best product that I have tried on the market. Slightly more expensive than the competition, but well worth the buy, it lasts longer, you can smell the individual fragrances as they change and I find it lingers around the house and you don't need to have one in every room.

10/10

This product is by far the best product on the market at the moment and I will not hesitate in paying that little extra to make home smell exceptionally nice.

Something in this one makes me cough when I step too close to it which is a shame because they do some lovely smells.

Nice comparison here. Shame I dont share your feelings for the Air Wick which I think is generally one of the better ones around plus can use Yankee Candle bottles too.

I used to think AmbiPur were the best above everything but their prices are too expensive and some of their latest scents have made me sneeze. As for the Glade plug in, I had one plug which nearly went on fire because of escaping/leaking oil! I may be giving up heating chemicals to freshen my home soon though.
