Advantages: Soft, good thick roll

Disadvantages: top sheet and bottom sheet often come apart o nthe roll

Most people don't want to spend a fortune on toilet paper which gets flushed down the toilet, but at the same time, neither do you want toilet paper so thin that it is either not the nicest feel on your bum or tears easily. I fall into the category in the middle, where I don't buy the value toilet paper (although many a time I have been tempted) but I don't buy the luxury stuff either like this Andrex shea butter toilet paper - unless of course, as it was on a recent occasion, on offer.

Whilst our shopping recently, I noticed in semi chem this shea butter toilet paper from Andrex being sold at £3.99 for a 9 pack with three extra free. I thought it was a bargain not to be missed, so I hauled it around with the rest of my shopping home that day.

The packaging on this product is borwn with that creamy colour representing the shea butter on the front, along with the cute andrex puppy that everyone knows from the TV adverts. The toilet rolls themselves are cream in colour.

On the reverse of the packagain, it states that this toilet roll provides the 'silky softness of shea butter fro the feel of luxury....tender loving care for your skin..'

The toilet paper roll itself is of good thickness, and it textured with little lines running along it. It comes with quite a nice scent and you can feel the softness from it immediately.

The one that I have noticed however, is that when it is on the toilet rooll holder and you reach out for a piece, the top sheet very often comes apart from the bottom sheet, and gets all out of sync, with either the top sheet hanging longer or the bottom sheet hanging shorter or vice versa. It doesn't seem to say together that well, which I was very surprised at for a good brand of toilet roll.

There is no doubt that when you are using it, it is soft on your bottom, and it 'kind to your behind' as the andrex slogan goes.

It is worth it however? For full price I don't think so. On offer, yes. It is nice every so often to have a slighty more luxurious feeling toilet roll, but I find that the average toilet roll such as Tesco luxury toilet rolls do the same job, without the top and bottom sheet splitting.

I have previously tried the andrex quilted toilet tissue, and in actual fact, I would much prefer to buy those than this shea butter range, as I just don't feel that it is worth the full price.

All in all, a good soft toilet roll but not worth the high cost. Wait until there is an offer on it.

Summary: A good toilet roll but not worth it at full price - better on offer!!
