There are many pretenders to the toilet roll throne (lol) but only one or two other brands really manage to come close to the super soft rolls of Andrex toilet tissue. Having bought cheaper toilet tissue products that have been of a thin and poor quality tissue, I feel its worth spending a little more to buy a better product like this one.

For one thing I have definitely noticed that the thickness of each individual sheet is much better when buying the Andrex products. The tissue used to make up the product doesn't seem to leave dust everywhere either, which you sometimes get with cheaper products. The size of the actual rolls really is thicker meaning the difference in actual value for money is next to nothing.

I actually took the time recently to measure up by eye a cheaper supermarket own brand 4 pack product priced at £1.79, to the Andrex 4 pack product priced at £1.98, just to see why the supermarket own brand was that much cheaper. I have to say that the difference in the size of the products on the rolls when packed into the usual 4 pack layout is that Andrex is much larger and bulkier. So the cheaper brand was cheaper to buy because there is less of the product, its as simple as that.

The difference was very visible and so it was the Andrex product that made its way into my shopping basket, as I could see I was getting more product for my money. Not only was I getting more for my money as there was more product per roll, but there was also an in store offer of 2 x 4 roll packs for £3.50, which certainly made the Andrex a real bargain buy. Why pay more for less and choose bargain buys over Andrex when thats the case.

The varieties the product comes in is varied with the well known ultra soft Andrex tissue still fronting the range, but now being complimented by other products. Amongst those I have purchased is the Andrex shea butter product that has slightly ribbed pale beige toned tissue sheets infused with the shea butter for added smoothness. I cannot say its a favorite product from the range, mostly as the colour is a little odd, but other than that the texture of the product is good.

The aloe vera product is a good one, as its infused with aloe vera to soothe and smooth at the same time. These packs are great and I noticed them priced at the same £3.50 for 2 x 4 roll packs in store, which was a real bargain buy. Another great product from Andrex is the Quilts range as they offer extra thick, quilted tissue sheets for the same amount of pennies as the standard product. They are so good that they rival the quilted Double Velvet product.

I think you can feel and see the difference in the quality of top products like Andrex when you compare them with cheaper brands. When you can pick them up for the same or in this case less than supermarket own brands or other unknown brands I see no reason to choose another product. As the range of toilet tissue products are better than many other brands, I feel Andrex ought to get a 5 star rating.
