---Why I Purchased Andrex---
I normally buy the cheapest own brand toilet tissue from Tesco - or their new discount make of Spring Force.
However I was recently able to pick up five of the Andrex 9 packs for £10 on Amazon - so they worked out at £2 for 9, as opposed to my normal tissue at £1.99 for 9 - so I thought we would get a little luxury for the same price as normal.
From the Andrex website:
* Andrex toilet roll was first launched in 1942
* Andrex is the nation's favourite brand of toilet tissue - a position it has held for over 40 years
* Since the first puppy advert in 1972, there have been over 130 ads starring the Andrex Puppy
9 rolls of Classsic White toliet tissue that come in a plastic sealed bag with white handles.
The front had a cute puppy head in the bottom corner and a banner that invites you to 'Collect Puppy Points ...a little thank you from Andrex'.
Made in the UK and European Union.
9 rolls of 2 ply tissue.
Sheet size 124mm x 104mm.
Roll length 29.88m.
By Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen.
The pack contains a code that you register online to claim your Puppy Points - 'a little thank you for purchasing' - this pack contained 10 points
You pick up Puppy Points with each packet you buy - there is a code on the wrapper.
However having looked at their website the offers do not compensate tfor the high price of the product.
A whopping £4.69 for 9 rolls (as compared to what I usually pay of £1.99 for Spring Force at tesco (but the Andrex are on offer at present as 2 for £7.50 on the Tesco website - but still expensive in my opinion).
Having been used to using the basic own brand versions for many years I was looking forward to some luxury with this product - but it failed to deliver.
Granted the sheets are slightly larger than the ones from the cheaper products I buy (currently Spring Force from Tesco) but they were the same colour and thickness and were only very marginally softer).
Comparing the two packs of nine rolls the Andrex rolls are 29.88 metres long as opposed to 23.1 metres for the Spring Force - but as they are over double the price I do not think they are good value.
Both packs contained 9 rolls of 2 ply tissue and I have them both in use in the bathroom at present and you would be hard pressed to tell the difference.
Thie packs I bought off Amzaon were a bargain for £2 as they worked out the same cost as what I normally purchase - but I would never dream of buying them at full price - that is definitely flushing money down the drain.
My pack of 9 came wth 10 Puppy Points which would entitle me to two 18x12 collages of pictures at 99p each - if I wanted them - or other offers if you saved up your points.
---Would I Recommend?---
Not really - the supermarket's own brands are pefectly adequate and half the price.
3 stars - OK product but not worth the money.
