Disadvantages: Watery, expensive paint

I have already written a comment on someone else's opinion about Anne McKevitt paint, ( I think it's under 'other paint'), but this paint was so bad I had to write a full opinion myself.
I have just finished painting my daughter's room. As the walls are quite new, I decided to paint a mural on them, instead of papering them, (my daughter is only 23 months!). I brought lots of tester pots of paint for the design, as I would only need a little of each colour. Most of the testers I brought were Homebase own brand paints, and the colours were great. However, when I was buying the paint there wasn't a bright purple in that range, so I looked at the Anne McKevitt paints. There was a lovely bold purple, 'Dragon Purple', it was just what I wanted. The pot was more expensive than the others, but I brought it anyway. Big mistake.
As I said I was only painting a mural, rather than a large wall, but purple paint made life very difficult indeed. Everything I painted purple needed at least two coats, and in some cases three, unlike the other paints which only needed the one. The paint was very watery, it almost looked as if washing up liquid had been added, as it was slightly bubbly! It ran down the wall, the paint brush, my arm! It was a total mess. It was so bad I changed the design so I could use less purple!
I am so glad I wasn't painting a large wall with this paint. I hate to think how many coats it would have taken. My husband said that as it was expensive paint, maybe they made it thin so you would have to buy more. That's a very cynical point of view, but the more I think about it, the more I think he might be right!

NB The price I have quoted is for the tester pot only.
