I love a bargain and when recently shopping for washing liquid I saw Ariel Excel gel on offer. Space is at a premium and I loved the dinky squat bottle that is upside down compared to normal bottles. It actually fooled my husband who rarely does the washing and needed some soap to soak something, he pulled off the lid and was surprised that it was ... Read the complete review

Since this came on the shelves at my local Asda I rarely buy anything else. The usual price is £4.34 for a 666ml bottle (18 washes) but it's usually on offer for around £3 if not a bit less. I like it for the simple fact the packaging is a lot smaller and fit's in the cupboard! This comes in a small ovaley shaped white bottle, ... Read the complete review

I have no brand loyalty at all when it comes to choosing a washing detergent, one week I may buy the supermarkets own brand and the next whatever of the big names is on offer. One detergent I have been particularly impressed with is Ariel excel gel. It costs £4.35 for a 666ml bottle of gel in Tesco but I have bought a few bottles and ... Read the complete review

If you have read my reviews before, You will know that I don't stick to any brands and I am not a loyal customer of any products. I buy whats on offer but I don't always buy whats cheapest. I buy what I think is the best deal, it's as simple as that. On washing powders I am the same, I did however stick to fairy non-bio for the first 3 ... Read the complete review

On doing my weekly shop a couple of weeks ago, I was looking for some washing powder. Well not powder as I can't use that as it seems to build up and every few months it clog's my outside drains up terrible. So now I only use the liquid type. Well I do like to vary my washing products if only to see if they smell nice or not. I noticed ... Read the complete review

I came across Ariel Excel Gel as it was on offer in my local Morrissons store. I had seen it before but had not been temped to buy it as the price was quite high at £4.38. The offer was buy one get one free and as this was the best offer and I'm not really a loyal shopper anymore (I tend to go for the offers on things i need to help save a bit ... I have been wanting to use Ariel Excel Gel for quite a while now and when I saw it reduced from £4.38 to just £3.00 in my local Sainsbury's I decided to give it a try. For my £4 I received a 666ml container of the Excel Gel. This is designed to last for around 15 washes but I estimate that I will get somewhere between 25-30 from this as I don't ... When I asked my son-in-law to pick me up some washing powder I knew it was useless to be too specific and just requested that he buy me anything apart from Surf powder as my skin has recently taken offence with it. He bought home a bottle of new Ariel Excel Gel which was on special offer in my local mini-market at £1.99, I have wanted to try this ... Read the complete review

Heavily advertised at the moment with quite an accent on the fact that this gel will wash at a low temperature. This new detergent promises a clean wash and a clean conscience. I'm all for being environmentally friendly and do try to make an effort but the fact that this was for sale as a two for one in Sainsbury's had more of an influence than ... Read the complete review

Since I have been using Ariel Gel (normal one) I have found that after each wash I find a grey clumpy residue on my clothes that when touched feel greasy. Does anyone else have this problem? I have cleaned my machine on a boil wash with soda crystals but it still happens but not when I use an ordinary washing liquid or powder. I also agree with the smell issue but have found the wash ok.

I must admit that I am not a brand snob when it comes to laundry detergent. I do prefer liquid detergents and have been using a wool detergent from Lidl for years, with occasional purchases of whatever biological stuff is on offer for towels and bedlinen. I also do most of my laundry at 30 degrees - I got into this habit several years ... Read the complete review

I tried this when it first came out and and to be honest I wasn't really impressed. Yes you can wash at cold temperatures but if you have tough stains that need removing forget it. I got make-up on my collar and washed the item of clothing at the suggested temperature, you couldn't tell it had been washed. As soon as i turned the temp ... Read the complete review

After seeing all the hype on the television adverts and hearing that Ariel excel gel is the way forward, I decided to give up my bold infusions for just 1 time and give it a go. How could I not try it considering friends and family had and they were adamant they had been converted from their usual favourite brands to this. I decided to try the ... Read the complete review

When I first saw the adverts for this new washing gel,the first thought I had was 'does my washing machine go that cold?!' as the adverts said you could turn your temperature right down to 15 degrees! I first noticed it for almost £5 in one supermarket. The price put me off as I was paying less than half that for my then regular washing ... Read the complete review

I am trying to make differences to my energy bills and was advised that washing at lower temperatures is more energy efficient so I have recently started using this product as it claims to produce outstading cleaning with temperatures from as low as 15 degrees. It is an odd looking product - on the top is the dosing container which ... Read the complete review

I'm a single gal living on my ownand yes i do have an active social life and work full time but when i comes to washing i guess i'm one of the lucky few that only have to do one or two washes a week - either a black or white wash!! Now if any of you have read my review of Espares, you will know that my husband enjoys the satisfaction of keeping white goods alive, by repairing their faults and stopping them from going into Landfill. This is great except for one thing, newer machines are getting more and more energy efficient, and so are the detergents, so very soon I think we ... Read the complete review

I bought three plain bio gels from Tescos when they were £1.88. The first thing that appealed to me, and still does, is the nice fresh smell that finds its way out of the machine while it's washing. It's the first detergent I've ever used that doesn't smell fusty. A bonus is that the drawer no longer needs cleaning, assuming that conditioners aren't added. And the cleaning is great.

This has been heavily advertised on the television so thought I would try it as I liked the idea of washing in cold water to save on electricty bills. It cost me around 3.00 and from one container you can get around 18 washes depending on the size of your loads. The packaging is quite unique to other products on the market. It is a white ... This is one of those times when advertisements make an impact on my buying decision. Having run out of Persil detergent, we bought the much publicize, Ariel Excel Gel.
