Advantages: convenient and mess free

Disadvantages: little more expensive

A pile of dirty washing
sitting in the bin,
A cry of "what's that awful ponging?"
was heard somewhere within.

"Aha!" says Claire
"It's laundry time,"
A quick trip up the stair.
"Let's rid these things of grime?"

Into the washing machine they go,
The linen, towels and smalls
Along with a little bag of green goo
No more messing around with balls.

Round and round and well,
A little foam,
A pleasant smell,

The machine comes to a stop,
A wait then,
Pop!
The door is open.

Out comes the washing
Onto a tray,
How refreshing,
Another fine day.

It's clean and it's fresh,
Check collars
And yes!

At 33p a wash
Sold in packets of 12
Not too much for a wash
Take a pack off the shelf

I must confess to having been a little backward in trying new types of washing detergent. I am, however, very glad I tried Ariel Liqui-Tabs. They are so easy to use, leave no residue and get the washing clean. They are a little more expensive than traditional powders but take up far less room. Marvellous technology from Procter and Gamble!

CLAIRE'S BOTTOM TEN TIPS

1 - Always sort your washing correctly into colours - nothing worse than grey smalls which should have been white;

2 - If it says dry clean only, there is a reason!

3 - Try to wash clothes at the correct temperature - they will last longer.

4 - Keep all detergents out of the reach of babies and small children - these tabs look like jelly….

5 - Look out for special offers on washing products in supermarkets - they don't go off and you know you'll need them.

6 - Iron cotton garments when still damp - it will make it easier.

7 - Use a good quality fabric conditioner, especially on synthetics.
<
br>8 - Wash new, coloured garments by hand the first time to check for colour runs.

9 - Pre-treat stubborn stains with a suitable pre-treater (having done a test patch first!)

10 - Do you washing! No one likes dirty clothes and fresh dirt comes out more easily!

Great poem. The liquid tabs are a bit pricy for the amount of washing I have to do!
