Asda Kitchen Foil - 300mm by 30 m is £3.87 at ASDA

One of the many things in the kitchen I could not do without is kitchen foil, and at £3.87 for 30 m the foil from ASDA is in my mind a real bargain. I cannot remember exactly how much I paid so the price is taken from the ASDA website.

The foil itself comes in a rectangular box, which has a 'jagged' serrated edge to make tearing the foil easier. I have found that if I am not careful the foil will tear into strange shapes as the angle I tear the foil at will not utilise the cutting edge of the box.

ASDA foil is useful for all of those messy jobs like lining a grill pan when cooking meat. and will act to make cleaning up after cooking easier. The foil itself is thinner than some, which I generally don't mind as it makes it easier to wrap things and keep them small. Thick foil for example in a sandwich box takes up too much space. The thickness can sometimes be an issue when it is used to catch fat, and it can tear and the mess will leak through making the pan more difficult to clean.

I tend to be more of a fan of foil than film as I always get all caught up in the clingy-ness of it. This foil while being reasonably priced works well over things in the fridge to keep them fresh as well as keeping- scents in which helps to keep any smells from building up.

The ASDA foil is a nice size for most jobs - however if I need to cover my largest casserole dish it can sometimes need two lengths of the foil, but this is easy enough to do. It works well and is a nice cheap foil. (I could buy wider foil for this though as I do at Christmas for all my meats).

I would recommend this as for the price paid it does a relatively good job, however it does loose one star for the tearing.
