Advantages: Smell, ease of use, economical

Disadvantages: Doesn't deliver the promised 7 day freshness

Staying with my mad mate yet again in her caravan after the last holiday I decided to take with me far less clothes and stuff with me this time! I now know from past experience of holidaying in a small caravan with her and four dogs that I need to take a minimalist approach and after all.... this time I'm only staying in and dossing with her for a few days not far from home!

However this meant that I found that this time around I need to wash as I go a bit more and being on a campsite means that I have to pay to use the washing facilities so not only did I nick her washing tablets, I decided that I would hand wash my bits and bobs and then use the washer machine for 60p to rinse and spin my clothes and then use the tumble drier for 40p...and that's it, it works out really economical instead of washing for £3.00 and then you have so much washing to dry as you want to make a full load up and end up spending pounds on drying it all. I'm not tight but I know the value of my cash for sure!

The tablets she uses are these one's from Asda and she informed me as I opened the box that she rates them as highly as the leading brands but pointed out they are far cheaper!

The Packaging:

Mainly light pink box with little orchid flowers on it the top and the front of the box are the same. I'm told that they are Asda 2 in 1 With fabric softener Oriental Pearl & Orchid '36 tablets' which gives great performance even at 30c. I'm also told to expect 18 standard washes from this box of 36 tablets and that they give 7 day freshness. Other information on the box lists the ingredients and gives me instructions on how to use them and contact details for Asda are given. The tablets all come in packs of two in little see through wrappers and all in all it's all informative enough packaging.

Using Them:

All you need to do is put two of the large round, white tablets (with speckles of light pink ingrained into them) into the drawer of a washer machine or put them in a little laundry net and into the drum of your washer machine or of course you can use them as I have been doing and put them into water and let them dissolve.

The smell of these is simply superb. Really floral and fresh with an expensive air to them and both me and friend love the fragrance of these. She uses them in the washer machine as she's not as tight as me, me I dissolve them in warm to hottish water and go from there.

They disintegrate really well in both cases and we both love the results that these give us. I had very dirty washing and somehow managed to get red wine down one of my tops and tea all over my white pjs and I even had blood all over my slippers. Like I say I hand washed my clothes and found them to lather well in the water and I simply and gently rubbed the stains with my fingertips and it all came out magnificently, my friends washing was put in at 30c and once again her grubby stuff came out immaculate and they removed her tough and greasy/dirty stains.

She doesn't use fabric softener on her washing as these are 2 in 1 and she is happy with that. So was I but not on knitted things. My jumper came out sort of squeaky once I dried it and I didn't like that at all and had to re wash that at a later date.

The only thing I would complain about with these is that they left my hands rather sticky after hand washing with them although I found the residue easy to remove with water from my clothes and hands.

Verdict:

Love them! My clothes certainly came out refreshed and clean as anything and I can't fault them on that. I can't say that the smell lingered on my clothes for a full 7 days but can say that the smell stayed for about 4 days and for me that's enough really. These come in handy packets and of course you can use 1 tablet for small amounts of washing, 2 on more or more stained washing and I find these really do work out very economical in my case. Will certainly purchase these again!

Only available in Asda stores priced at £2.50 a box and also available in boxes of 30 washes and in other fragrances.

Summary: Lovely!
