With so many weird and wonderful products out there on the market for us consumers it is all too easy to dismiss something as simple as a washing up liquid, after all you only need it to clean the dishes not much important about that is there? Yet all our supermarkets have shelves and shelves full of different brands making wonderful promises about how lovely our dishes will be after using them, how clean, how fresh, how pleasant smelling.............you may not think there's a lot of difference between one brand and the next and imply grab whatever catches your eye first, I used to play about with different brands, choosing whichever looked nicest or smelled most ... I'm always out to save a few pennies here and there and I like to buy the supermarkets' own brands of most things and washing up liquid is one of those things! The lavender and tea tree liquid is now just lavender and the bottle is a different shape - similar to that in the picture but with squared shoulders rather than rounded and a red bottle top and the labelling now has a large purple bubble with the words ASDA and Lavender in the middle of it and bubbles all around it. There is also a smaller bubble with the words 'Grease busting' on it! Having scoured the Asda website, I'm fairly sure that this has now replaced the lavender and tea tree product shown ... Well, we have a dishwasher so (thankfully) I don't need to spend too much time doing dishes! But... there are a few things that I prefer to handwash - children's lunchboxes, baby bottles and that casserole dish with the bits of chicken burnt on that needs a really good scrub (grrr....) so I always have a bottle of washing up liquid under the sink anyway! I tend to shop in Asda and I'm no own brand snob so it's usually Asda's own washing up liquid that I buy and use. There are quite a few different varieties of Asda's own washing up liquid starting at 72p for 500ml but this is from their 'Premium' range which also includes other varieties such as 'avocado ... Deciding it todays society and with the way things are going to save as much money as possible so out went the brand products and in came supermarkets own. I wasn't expected this product to be as fantastic as the 'brands' but washing up liquid is just to wash up with right?? Wrong - this product is fantastic, the smell is fresh and different and lingers on your hands afterwards, I also found you didn't need to use as much to get the lathered effect like you do with other supermarket washing up liquid. This by far is one of the better 'cheaper' options to wash your pots. Its available in Asda for around 85p for 500ml but is often on 3 for £2 which in the long ... Read the complete review

When it comes to dish cleaning, my dish washer wins hands down but there are still occasions when it is necessary to use a conventional scourer pad, pair of rubber gloves and reach for the washing up liquid. I must say, yes it is a rare occasion such as now when my kitchen is being renovated hence my sink is out of use so I decided that after rekindling my relationship with washing up liquid, this could be the perfect time to write this review. *The purchase* I really took quite a risk the first time that I purchased this product. Usually, I would automatically purchase some sweet smelling fairy liquid as my hands are very sensitive and other brands ... Read the complete review
