My pans are all stainless steel and whenever anything gets burnt onto the bottom it's a nightmare to get them clean. I've tried those sponges with a green scouring layer but they often aren't strong enough to get rid of most burnt on stuff, so instead I use these which are essentially a cheaper version of Brillo pads. The pads come in a plastic tray, which is wrapped in a green and white plastic wrap. It's very basic packaging, but functional, and I was pleased that these came in a plastic tray, as I once bought some from Wilkinsons which came in just a plastic packet, and pink powder leaked all over the place from one of the corners!
