Advantages: Works well and its cheap

Disadvantages: thinner than other film's

Cling film and I have a bit of a love hate relationship; I love what it does but I hate how you get it to do what it does. It has taken many years of blood, tears and sweat to get to apoint where I am nearly happy about using the stuff and I am even at a point where I could be classed as a 'pro' when it comes to unrolling, ripping and wrapping! My hubby on the other hand is far from this stage and I have kindly asked him to refrain from using it because whenever I get it out of the cupboard after him, it's either an unusable mess or I spend hours trying to find the end.

Normally I wouldn't go near a cheap cling film because they end up ripping and doesn't even 'cling' together to keep things fresh, however this Asda Smartprice Cling film is a totally different story (or should I say 'film').

The cling film costs around 40p and you get approximately 45 metres of the clear 'clingy' stuff. It comes in a long rectangular box very similar to the one above except it's green and white instead of red and white. When the box is opened you will find a clear serated, tooth-like edge glued to the side of the box. The roll inside is all ready to go and the end can be found easily because it's all 'ruffled' up so you can grab at it.

The great thing about this cling film is the fact that when you pull it off the roll, it doesn't cling to itself and cause a frustrating mess where you end up trying to save it and wasting ten hours in the process. Despite this fact it still clings together when you need it too. If I wrap sandwiches then the ends will fold over nicely keeping a tight seal to keep them fresh.

One thing that desparately annoys me about this stuff is when the serated tooth ends up becoming upstuck so you no longer have anything to break the cling film off with. You are then left with the job of trying to gently break it off by pushing your fingers through various points in the film which is a job in itself or you have to throw the whole thing away. Well, in all my days of using this product this has never happened! The teeth have stayed firm until the end of the roll.

The only thing that some people may not get along with is the fact that the cling film isn't the thickest stuff that you can buy but it does the job for me and I am sure Asda Smartprice cling film and I will continue on in our love/hate realtionship forever!!!

Summary: A great film that I love to hate!

I have to use tin foil as the dogs have an insane phobia of the noise clingfilm makes. Strange, but true. Anyway, good review!
