Asda Smartprice Dusters
Disadvantages: Don't work
I hate dust! No matter how much I clean my house, there is always dust forming somewhere or other and it drives me insane. I really wish there was a magical solution for this annoying substance.
At Asda, for only 68p you can get a packet of 3 dusters and that works out to 13.6p per duster. The packaging for the dusters is extremely basic but this is to be expected when it comes to the Asda Smart Price brand. The packaging is much like a clear plastic bag with space to rip it open at the top. On the front of the packet is the Smart Price logo and in bold, black lettering '5 dusters'. It would have been nice for the packaging to have more of a picture of these dusters in use instead of the tiny image of a feather duster as this isn't even what you are buying.
I would think that everyone knows what a normal duster looks like but if you don't, they are made out of yellow material with red stitching around the edges. Upon opening the packet and pulling out one of the dusters, I could immediately feel how thin the fabric was. I wasn't expecting anything very thick but I wasn't expecting them to be quite so thin either and from this, I was a little worried about how well they were going to work. However, these dusters are quite soft and I was thinking that they were going to be a lot rougher after noticing how thin they were.
When using the dusters, they didn't live up to my expectations. I have had really good experiences with the Smart Price band overall and I am rarely disappointed with whatever I buy. These dusters really don't do the job they're designed for very well. I found that when I was dusting around my house, the dust was actually just moving from one place to another rather than the material picking up any bits and pieces. As soon as I had dusted one area and moved on to another, the dust would begin to fall away from the material back on to the new surface.
Even though these dusters are cheap, that means nothing unless they work and unfortunately, they don't so I wont be buying them again.
Summary: A rubbish product
