Asda Smartprice Dusters
Advantages: Cheap price.
Disadvantages: Too thin.
I have a lot of wooden furniture around my home and like to polish it regularly. I do my fair share of the housework in my home because it is only fair. I don't mind buying cheaper products when I can because it does save me a lot of money.
These dusters come housed in a clear plastic bag. The dusters are yellow in colour and have a red stitching around the edge of the dusters. There are 5 dusters in the bag. These ones are quite a thin material and I find them quite flimsy but they are a soft material. They are so thin I can actually see through the material with these ones. I found I actually had to use 2 dusters together to make the dusting easier to do. Not very good because I had to use more than one duster which I normally like to use.
I like to spray my polish onto the surface I am polishing and sometimes directly onto the duster. These do clean quite well but the feel of them doesn't sit well in my hands while dusting my furniture. Because they are of a soft material, I find they don't scratch the wood or ruin it. That's a bonus with these duster that they are soft enough to polish or dust over surfaces. That's the only good thing about them in all honesty.
These are very poor value for money and not good quality dusters. I have tried other shops dusters and found them to be fine to use but these don't feel quite the same as the other brands.
Because I didn't really like them very much, I just used the rest in the bag for wiping away oil from my wheels on my bike and my grandchildren's bikes. They were fine for just wiping things like bike wheels but not so good for polishing my furniture, which was the reason I bought these dusters in the first place. So I did get to use the rest at least for cleaning something. I could easily have just used an old rag to do this job rather than using a duster.
These are priced at just 71p, cheap I know but worth it certainly not. I'd rather buy a better brand and have a good adequate thick duster to dust and polish my wooden furniture.
I don't recommend these dusters unless you are really short of money or you are looking for a lot of dusters to just wipe other items around your home. I won't be in a hurry to buy these again in the future. Totally rubbish dusters and far too thin even for the cheap price. They may be suitable for parents to buy for their children who going to university and away from home and need a cheap duster to help them clean their accommodation etc. They are cheap enough for their budget and that of the parents to buy them for their children just to start them a little starter pack for when they go away for the first time.
I rate these 2 stars.
Summary: Too thin.
