I ordered my shopping online earlier a couple of weeks ago, mainly because I wanted some Christmas gifts and couldn't be bothered to lug them back from ASDA which is a little further away from my house than I would like to travel! To make my order up to the minimum £25, I ordered loads of cleaning stuff, including a pack of the Smartprice kitchen roll. I'm not sure I would have bought this ordinarily - I do tend to go for the cheapest option when it comes to cleaning stuff, but I've used other supermarket's value brands of kitchen roll, and found them to be too thin, making them useless. The reason I bought this though, was that we were given some cleaning ... Read the complete review

Everyone is looking for ways to save money at the moment and I recently looked at the kitchen towel in my kitchen and decided that I would try something cheaper for a week or two and see how I got on. Each roll has perforations and contains what appears to be a standard amount of kitchen towel. To use a piece I simply roll it out and then pull near the perforations and one piece will break away. I used this kitchen towel for a variety of things such as wiping my hands, cleaning up spillages and even for cleaning the windows. I found them to be absorbent and they didn't break up at all if I used them to do a little bit of scrubbing. ... Read the complete review

Whilst out and about the other day, I decided to pop to Asda for a few bits and pieces (mainly to stock up on food and biscuits for my cats), choosing Asda as it was close by, and I prefer it to Tesco and other supermarkets (plus I find it cheaper!). Whilst in the store, I remembered that I had ran out of kitchen towels and headed to the appropriate aisle. I usually opt for supermarket "own brand" towels anyway, but as I normally buy such items from Tesco or Co-op (both these stores are nearer to where I live, so I tend to do most of my shopping there) I hadn't tried the Asda smartprice towels before. I was pleased at the low price - ... Read the complete review

I'm not fussed to buy Bounty (or Plenty as they are now known). I think they are overpriced and I normally buy the Supermarket brand of Kitchen Towels. I find them thick enough, and they look alright with their little designs on them. However I downbranded even further when I picked up a pack of these. Priced at a bargain 64p for 4 rolls, it is certainly a good amount cheaper then any other brands and makes out there. Packaging isn't that exciting. It is just a cellophane wrapper which you can see the Kitchen Towels through. The writing is green on the front and it just looks a bit basic. This is the cheapest brand in Asda, which is called ... We get through loads of kitchen roll so always try the cheaper makes to save a few quid. I'd read loads of good things about this Smart Price one so told my mum to add a pack to her online order to try it out. I don't think it's that good really and the best thing about it is the price I reckon! For a start the sheets are loads thinner than other kitchen rolls and the paper is nowhere near as strong as the one we get from the pound shop sometimes. It doesn't absorb as well either, yesterday I had to use 6 sheets to mop up a very small spill of cordial in the kitchen and I thought at the time that Bounty would have done it in one ...
