Asda Smart Price Kitchen Towel - a household wonder or a soggy waste of money??

Good stuff? The thing that is initially most attractive about this product is undoubtedly the price! This kitchen roll costs a mere 83p for a four roll pack which is a great saving compared to the £3+ that you would normally pay for the bigger brands. The paper is also 100% recycled so you know you're doing your little bit for the environment too!

Bad stuff? I would say that the kitchen towel isn't as absorbent as some of the other leading brands (Bounty, etc) and it's the basic old style - no 'thirst pockets' here BUT it doesn't really rip/tear and it mops up everything I need it to. In all honesty, if I had a bigger spill to mop up I'd reach for a proper cloth rather than kitchen towel so as long as it mops up the odd spillage, absorbs fat from bacon, etc - which it does - then I'm more than happy! Only other downside is maybe the packaging which is a bit dull but then again, it's going straight in the bin so who really cares about that?!

Verdict... Very good value kitchen towel that does the job you need it to do. No idea why you would fork out the extra for a branded towel!

Summary: Great value, great towel.

I might have to give this a go, I'm always buying the more expensive brands of kitchen towel but it seems like such a waste to be spending so much on something that, as you say, is just going to go in the bin. Great review :).
