Advantages: IT'S CHEAP AND IT WORKS!

Disadvantages: NOT THE BEST

Whilst out and about the other day, I decided to pop to Asda for a few bits and pieces (mainly to stock up on food and biscuits for my cats), choosing Asda as it was close by, and I prefer it to Tesco and other supermarkets (plus I find it cheaper!).

Whilst in the store, I remembered that I had ran out of kitchen towels and headed to the appropriate aisle. I usually opt for supermarket "own brand" towels anyway, but as I normally buy such items from Tesco or Co-op (both these stores are nearer to where I live, so I tend to do most of my shopping there) I hadn't tried the Asda smartprice towels before.

I was pleased at the low price - under £1 for a four pack! Whilst not the most attractive looking towels I have ever seen (be honest, we all like those ones with the little pictures/patterns printed on, don't we?) I am of the opinion that Kitchen towel is there for small spillages, wiping hands and that sort of thing, and will therefore ultimately end up in the bin. Because of this, I am not too bothered about how it looks.

Upon arriving home I had the perfect opportunity to try out the towels. Jigsaw the cat (very old, partially blind, partially deaf) had, for the umpteenth time, banged into her water bowl, in her haste to race to her dinner, greedy cat, causing a small spillage on the kitchen floor. I duly unwrapped a roll of kitchen towel from the smartprice package and mopped it up.

Hmmmm.... definitely not the most absorbent product on the market, that's for sure. I am quite sure that I had to use much more of the smartprice towel than if I'd used a more absorbent, better quality brand.

That said, such a brand is probably at LEAST double the price of this one, and as I've already said, I'm not too fussed about such things as I don't use kitchen towel for anything other than the type of spillage Jigsaw likes to make.

I'm going to buy this again. No, it's not the most absorbent, nor the most attractive, nor the best quality, but it IS as cheap as chips, does what it is supposed to, and saves me money!

Summary: Cheap and cheerful kitchen towel :-)

I wouldn't by budget toilet roll but budget kitchen roll is a no brainer! As sdean says when you're going to throw it away the cheaper the better! Susan

Good review. Always nice to find a dirt cheap product that actually works. I've been using a Tesco own brand washing up brush for ages now, and I could have paid for that in coppers.
