Advantages: Brilliantly cheap and pretty good quality

Disadvantages: Not for the" Mrs Bucket" type

Much like the sweetie aisle the toilet roll section in Asda as well as most other supermarkets appears to present us with so much choice now days that it all too often becomes a mesmerising vortex of utter confusion as to what on earth you should purchase. Realistically cost in the toilet roll department should be the main driving force in decision making considering this is one product you can be sure literally ends up flushed down the drain. But we are all too often captivated by the bright eye catching colours and promises of the softest bottom in the world, that our attention becomes easily distracted from the most important factor; cost.

From padded to cushioned and moisturised to antibacterial you can be certain their lures will drag you into a disorientating, toilet roll choosing dilemma. Is it so important that we are near able to bed down for the night on our comfy trusted toilet roll or do we need something that is just clean and fit for the job ( or jobbies in this case)? I mean after all this isn't the old days of cheap toilet roll is it? You remember the stuff, that tracing paper like stuff disguised as toilet roll that would scratch, chaff and smear in places a toilet roll should simply never be able to exact its revenge. One blow of the nose resulting in near fatal injury as the paper cut nose from face, almost piercing through nostril to nostril enabling you to thread the toilet roll holder through and pose as some kind of strange new age festival goer. No, cheap toilet roll has come a long way since those heinous times.

~~~PRODUCT AND PACKAGING~~~
Asda's smart price toilet roll (or as it is by far the cheapest of toilet papers perhaps it should be referred to as Bog Roll) may not be fit for a king but its none the less of reasonable quality. The rolls look pretty much like any other, sheets of dual layered paper wound round a cardboard tube with those punchered holes for easy tear. Now it has to be said that the tear doesn't always match up on both layers, occasionally you may end up a couple of sheets short on the dual layer below, the roll is none the less still adequate. You wouldn't say this is the softest toilet roll in the world either but it isn't the roughest by far. The sheets are perhaps a little narrower than that of other brands but not noticeably so. The packing looks what it is, cheap, see through and usually with red or green writing so the only down side is that everyone in the shop will know you have a cheap bottom... but who cares.
~~~THE COST~~~

Be proud of your toilet roll buying antics, push by those posh types quaffing over what fragrance they want their floral toilet paper to be and head straight for that Bog Roll knowing you're going to pay around £1.20 for your 12 rolls whilst they will puff and pant for ages only to end up spending £3.50 or more for their more up market brands. That's a whooping great saving if you think about it especially over the course of a year. Imagine all the cakes you could buy with that!

~~~SUMMARY~~~
All toilet jokes aside this really is a great product that's literally going to stop you throwing unnecessary money down the drain so why not give them a go.
Summary: I won't be returning to the posh stuff!
