Asda Tea Lights
Advantages: Burn evenly, last 3.5 hours, good price
Disadvantages: Can't reseal the bag
Last year I started using Yankee Candle tartlets so I need to buy some tealights to place under them, I found these in Asda and they cost me £1.50 for a bag which contains 75 tealights which I think is great value when you think what you can pay for a box of 10.
The tealights come packaged in a simple see through plastic bag, to ghet into the tealights you need to rip or cut the bag which is a drawback as it would be nice if you could reseal the bag to stop them falling all over. The front of the bag has a small black square on which is written asda in grey capital letters and then 75 unscented tealights in blue, it states that each tealight will burn for approx 3.5 hours each.
Each tealight is white in colour and approx 3 cms in diameter, there is a white wick in the centre and the candle is housed in a circular silver metal tray. The candles are easy to light as the wick is about 1 cm long which allows it to catch light easily.
I generally put candles on once my children have gone to bed as the eldest likes to put things on the mantlepiece which is where I have my tart burner so I wouldn't risk her knocking it. By the time my children are in bed it is generally about 3 hours until I go to bed and the tealight lasts the whole time so I can back up the claim for the burning hours.
The tealights are just what I need they are simple and cheap and they are strong enough giving off enough heat to melt down my Yankee Candle tartlets.
Summary: Now I need more yankee candles
