I love Avon Linen sprays but I am not overly keen on the smell of coconut so I had never tried this one however we have an Avon Representative at work and she had one on order so she let me smell it and I loved it so I bought myself some.
The product is one of Avon's own so you can only buy it from them either direct from the website where you will pay delivery if spending under £20 or from one of their representatives where you will get free delivery. The linen sprays come in a variety of fragrances and they usually cost £3.50 each but I only ever buy them when they come on offers such as 5 for £5 which does come around quite regularly.
The product comes in a plastic see through bottle with a pump spray top on it and a little cap to sit over the top of the pump, I always end up losing my caps but aslong as you are not putting them in a bag or something where it may get sprayed there is no need for the cap. You have the usual information on the bottle, shelf life, ingredients, warnings such as keeping away from children and the contact information for Avon
The bottle takes a while to spray when you first get it but once the spray is through the workings it sprays out really well and a couple of squirts is plenty if you use too much of it then it becomes overpowering and my Husband complains it gets on his chest. I love the smell of this you can smell the coconut but then also the lovely fruitiness of the papaya and I think the 2 smells go really well together.
I tend to use the linen sprays in the bedrooms so will make the bed and spray on a morning and then shut the door, it smells fresh all day long and I can still smell it when I get into bed on an evening which is lovely. I have never had any issues with this spray and it has never effected any materials I have sprayed it on.
I give this 5 stars as long as I get it at offer price as the price would be a drawback for me otherwise.
This was the third linen spray I had bought when I bought three a few months ago, for 99p each I thought it was a bargain and it didn't matter too much if they never worked because it isn't much money wasted. The price can vary for these between each catalog, but these are in everyone one of them, I'm assuming because of their popularity, so hoping these worked!
The strawberry was a complete fail, The cherry was lovely so Now it was the coconut and papaya's turn, I tried the similar approach to last time, and sprayed it in a small room but this time I little bigger, I first sprayed this in my room, Not sure if I sprayed to much of this at the time because the coconut smell was over powering and made me choke a little, so leaving it a while and going back to it, the over whelming smell of coconut was still there, great that the smell lingered, but the smell was horrid.
The smell reminded me of coconut oil and greasy girls lathering it on themselves to burn in the sun, it was horrid and extremely over powering, you couldn't at all smell the scent of papaya at all which was a shame, I decided never again to use this spray! I used avons 90day returns option to get my measly 99p back.
**DOOYOO HAS REQUESTED THAT I REVIEW THIS COCONUT AND LEMONGRASS LINEN SPRAY UNDER THIS HEADING AS THE PRODUCTS ARE VERY SIMILAR**
I purchased the Avon coconut and lemongrass room and linen spray as a bit of an impulse buy whilst browsing an Avon catalogue as it was on special offer selling for £1.90 instead of the usual selling price of £3.75. The product appealed to me as I love anything with a coconut scent and so I thought this would be lovely.
The product comes in a clear plastic bottle and is 125ml. The actual product is a clear liquid and you can see how much you have in the bottle which is always useful. The bottle has a label with coconuts on and it states that the spray is refreshing. It has a lid which is very easy to remove and a spray which you need to pump to get any of the linen spray out.
To use the product is really very simple. You initially will need to pump the spray a few times so that it begins to flow through the tube and into the spray. Once you have done this you should spray the product two or three times towards the centre of the room and this will leave a lovely sweet coconutty fragrance!
I have used this in every room in my house and I really think the fragrance that it gives off is lovely. However, the fragrance just doesn't last very long at all and I find that quiet disappointing. I have also used the spray on the cushions in my lounge and using it in this manner I have found that the scent will linger a little longer and as you plump the cushions you get a little whiff of the scent.
There are a few warnings on the bottle which state that as the product is flammable you should keep it away from heat and flames. You should also not use the spray directly on wooden furniture.
I don't think that I would buy this product at full price as the scent just linger for long enough in the air. However at £1.90 the price is decent enough to purchase the product just for being able to spritz in the air before guests arrive or as a quick freshener. In my opinion the product is ok. It has a lovely smell but there are many other-possible better, room freshening products out there.
125ml clear plastic bottle, with press down spray applicator. Has small decription on the back, ingredients and picture of a coocnut and papaya on the front.
Spray 2 or 3 times in the centre of the room. Leaves a lovely scent that is long lasting unlike air fresheners/room sprays by other well known brands.
I have always loved the smell of Avon's natural collection products. I absolutely love the smell of coconut, so I thought I would try the room and linen spray. I like my house to smell fresh and inviting. I have been using this spray for quite sometime and I have had quite a few people comment on how nice it smells.
The scentl doesn't take long to hit you, as soon as it is sprayed the scent near enough hits you in the face. It is very long lasting which is why I prefer to use it rather than other brands.
£3.75 (although Avon has many deals on this product)
If you are looking for a room spray that doesn't just leave a lovely smelling, non over powering smell but also lasts long, I would recommend you try this.
Other scents available in this brand: Black Cherry & Nutmeg, Lavendar & Chamomile, Raspberry, Coconut & Lemongrass, Strawberry & Guava
There aren't many of the avon products that I haven't tried over the years (problem with spending? me? never!) so I always like to buy the new stuff that comes out just because I like to- I don't need an excuse Lol! Avon always used to be thought of as just selling mainly make up and body products but things have changed over the years, as well as branching out into gifts and exercise gear they also do some nice little household products such as this room fragrance. There are many products in the 'naturals' range and one of them is this tropical smelling room and linen spray. It smells so nice you could drink it (but please don't!) and has a pina colada essence about it. As the title suggests it's a room and linen spray so you can spritz over your bedding too, though you only need a few spritzes as it's quite concentrated. Although it's called coconut and papaya I found I couldn't really smell the papaya as the coconut smell is far stronger, but who cares when it makes your home smell this good? Good product, good price (£3.50)
Avon room spray, gorgeous smell, end of review!
Only joking. Avon has a range of Room Sprays and they are all great smelling. The one I am reviewing however is the Coconut and Papaya one.
This spray comes in a 125ml bottle and normally costs £3.50. This may sound expensive, but a little goes a long way. The bottle is a pump action spray and I only spray 4 squirts into the middle of a room in the morning and I can still smell the scent later that night.
The design of the bottle isn't that exciting, it'ss just more so a standard bottle. It's clear plastic, with the pump spray. A small clear lid covers the spray. It has a sticker going around the bottle with the product information on it and the picture on the front is nice. It has half a coconut and a Papaya at the side of it. It says on the front it is conditioning, and find that statement strange for a room spray.
Now the important part, the smell of this. The smell is juicy, mouthwatering, gorgeous. It scents the house nice and can also be sprayed onto linen. I know of someone who lightly sprayed this on a table lamp, so when the lamp heated up you could smell this as well.
You can often buy this on offer. As I said it's normally £3.50, but in the current book it is £1.75. You should try this fragrance, as I think it is the best one, but there are other ones out there that may be more to others taste
I seem to have become obssessed with room sprays at the moment, various different brands, however them seem to appear more on my Avon orders nowadays.
The Coconut and Papaya Room and Linen Spray is within Avon's Natural range, one of the cheaper variations of ranges within the Avon catalogue and on future occasions I haven't thought of them to be very good quality and always bypassed them, however browsing through the pages, I cam across these little gems and added a couple to my order to try them out and to see if they lived up to the well known brand names that are reputable for these kind of products.
The product itself does look inexpensive and it is at the end of the day, however it appears to look like a product that you use on yourself as opposed to something that you use in the house. Its a little deceiving on the bottle that it actually says the word "body" although it is a room and linen spray, I don't know whether its because all the range is like this and they didn't actually pick up on it themselves, but it is a little misleading when you just look at the picture and don't actually read the description of the product.
The product comes in a clear plastic bottle with a plastic lid which when removed, displays a pump action nozzle for when releasing the product into the atmosphere. It has a sticker on the front of it with the Avon Naturals logo, a brief description of the product and a picture of a coconut and a papaya. The product itself looks like one of those cheap perfumes you used to be able to obtain from Woolworth's at Christmas time, like White Musk and similar things to that.
When you spray this product, the initial smell that you come across is the cocunut and then it starts to fade and you can smell the sweet scent of papaya after. Its a product that lingers for quite a while so is in actual fact good value for the money, however I haven't become acquired to this smell and don't particular like it in comparison with the likes of the Black Cherry version.
I haven't actualy used this product on my linen as like I said I am really not much for the smell of it, its too sweet, would be nice as a bath or body product however in the capacity of a room and linen spray its not for me i'm afraid.
It is a nice product for a good price, which can be bought more or less on an offer in the Avon catalogue, but I would recommend trying a different fragrance than this one.
I like to scent my room with sprays less harsh than aerosols especially when I am feeling wheezy with my asthma. I like Avon Naturals Room Sprays because they have a gentle pump action that delivers me a nice haze of liquid drops instead of an aerosol air freshener that comes out in a cloudy hiss.
I had never tried this coconut and papaya version before but since I brought my first bottle it is now my favourite one in the whole range. It doesn't affect my chest and does not make me cough like a lot of air fresheners.
It has a lovely fresh and tropical scent that is mainly a coconut smell but the papaya is also there. It is the coconut that gives me the exotic scent in my rooms because it is definatly the overpowering aroma in this stray. I can smell the papaya more as a fruity and sweet smell rather than being able to spot the papaya itself. It is very nice though and I think the 2 smells work very nicely together to give my rooms a very fresh, fruity and clean smell.
When I spray it into my lounge which is the biggest room in my bungalow I only need 4 or 5 squirts to freshen the whole room. I like that this room spray does not add to the dust in my house which aerosol air fresheners are known to do. I also like that the smell lingers in my room for quite a long time and fades gradually instead of being there one minute and gone the next. I am not sure why but in 3 months I have not got used to this scent yet and can still smell it even though I usually get to the point where I cannot smell air fresheners because I am so used to the smell being there.
I use the coconut and papaya spray on my curtains and bed linen as well. I think it works very well for this and leaves them smelling clean and really freshens them up. I sometimes give my cats beds a quick spray with it although I usually use Fabreeze or Oust on these because to get rid of the smell of cats I need something stronger than this Avon room spray. I have never had any of the Naturals Room & Linen Sprays stain any of my fabrics and the coconut and papaya one is no different. I have even sprayed it on my cream bed set and it did not even mark when the spray had been so I am very impressed with this. I like to give my bed set a quick spray in the morning so that it is nice and fresh when I get back into it at night. I spray it at about 10am and by 11pm when I get back into bed I can still smell the lovely fragrance.
This room and linen spray usually costs me £3. 50 from the Avon book but is very often included in the buy 2 get 1 free offers and is sometimes half price at £1. 75 as it is in this campaigns book. A bottle usually lasts me about 3 or 4 weeks but I always order a few when they are on special offer so I never run out.
Scented spray for freshening your home and furnishings.
