I always stayed away from Coconut scented things as I didn't think that I liked them. It was only the other year that I tried this range from Avon and I would say that it is one of my favourite scents out there. I have used the Shower Gel and body Lotion as well.
This comes in a 125ml bottle and I see from looking at the new Avon books that this product has went up to £4. I thought it was expensive enough before when it was £3.75 and since this is really only an Air Freshener than it seems a bit expensive. This being Avon though and you may know that it will be on offer every now and again and this is when I tend to stock up on things. This can be as low as 99p and that's when I buy about 5 different ones to keep me going.
The picture looks the same as the Dooyoo picture - it is the bottle on the right hand side that is the Room Spray. Just a simple clear plastic bottle with a stick on wrap around label going around it. A little lid on the top of the pump action spray bottle. It's nice enough and simple looking too. There is a picture of a Coconut on the label as well.
So how do you use this? Just spray it wherever you want to scent. You can spray this on fabrics and it won't stain. I see that Avon is now stating that this can be used as a Body Spray and as nice as I would like to smell of this, it just seems a bit odd to spray this in your house and then your body. Perhaps it is just me that thinks this.
I tend to spray about 4 squirts of this and I can certainly smell this in a room. this smells light, fresh, slightly sparkling and you get the gentle hint of Coconut. It is a strong enough smell, but not overly strong. If you want to smell more of this then just spray more.
The scent of this seems to linger alright and if I spray this and go out for the day I can still smell this later on at night but a lot fainter though.
There should be a scent in here for everyone and I would say that you should try this one if you haven't already as you probably will surprise yourself and end up liking this like what I done.
I read loads of reviews on the Avon naturals room sprays and always meant to try one, I just never quite got round to it. It was only when a lavender one turned up in our break room at work and I sprayed it a couple of times that I decided I'd definitely buy one, because it smelled really nice and was very effective. My mam is an Avon rep so one day when I was at hers I ordered one. She already owned a pomegranate one and she sprayed that, and again it was very effective and smelled lovely so I was confident this would be a good purchase.
The range of fragrances changes regularly as Avon are notorious for chopping and changing their product line all over the place. It seems like every time I find something that I like it ends up being discontinued. At the moment the fragrances available via the Avon website are black cherry and nutmeg, raspberry, strawberry and guava and coconut and lemongrass. I chose coconut and lemongrass because I adore the scent of coconut (although writing several reviews of coconut products in the past has made me aware it is a bit of a love/hate scent) and I thought the combination of coconut with lemongrass sounded quite a nice one.
The spray comes in a clear bottle with a pump action dispenser. There is a picture of some coconuts on the front but other than that the packaging is fairly plain. There are directions written on the back but they are fairly small and it's only now I've come to write this review that I actually noticed they were there at all!
To use you simply need to spray this into the centre of the room 2-3 times. It does say not to spray it directly onto wooden furniture but then I don't suppose anyone would. Given that it's called a 'Room and Linen spray' I was surprised there was no guide as to which type of fabrics this can be sprayed onto, so it's a case of using common sense and I'd avoid spraying it over anything delicate.
When you spray this out it comes out in a fairly fine mist, and you will find yourself being hit by the most gorgeous fragrance. I was surprised that it smells more like lemongrass than it does of coconut. The lemongrass is very fresh and with the slightly sweet undertone of the coconut to balance it out it actually smells really summery and tropical. It's in no way overpowering or sickly either which is good.
I find the scent lingers in the air for quite a while after spraying this without being too heavy, but I find when I really notice it is when I've left a room and walk back in. I think this is because your nose gets used to a scent after a while and you stop noticing so much. The fact that I can smell it after being out of the room for a while gives me confidence that this is what any visitors to my home will smell as they walk in...after all, I don't want the place to stink!
As for spraying on linen, I have been lightly spraying this on both my living room curtains and my kitchen blind (which is a fabric type) for well over a month now and I find it very effective at keeping the fabric smelling fresh. With my curtains in particular, I hate taking them down to wash as the window is large and the curtains take a really long time to dry. Obviously this spray doesn't actually clean them but it gives me confidence they are smelling fresh, and makes me able to wait just that little bit longer before washing them.
Also as I mentioned there is no guidance to what fabrics this can be used on, but my curtains are a heavy jacquard fabric, my kitchen blind is heavy cotton, and I've also used on my sofa (corduroy type fabric - much nicer than it sounds!) and my sofa throw which is polyester according to the label. I've experienced no staining or warping or anything like that on any of the fabrics, but if you're concerned I'd suggest just spraying it on a hidden corner or something like that first, sort of like a patch test.
This is just a fragrance that will cover up other smells it won't actually neutralise them in the way Febreze will, so I find it best to just use a couple of squirts to add a bit of a nice scent, rather than to get rid of any cooking smells or anything like that.
Avon actually make a body lotion and shower gel in the same fragrance of this, and whilst matching the scent of my house to the scent of my skin is not something I'd normally do I must admit I would quite like to try the body products as the fragrance is lovely!
I bought this product as part of a 3 for £5 offer that Avon were doing, but having checked the website it seems that they are currently selling this for the bargain price of just 99p saving £2.76 on the original price of £3.75. This is a real bargain as despite the fact that the bottle is fairly small at 125ml, I have found that it's lasting for ages. I do only use it about 3-4 times a week but there is more than three quarters of the bottle left, which I think is fairly impressive.
Buy from your local Avon rep or www.avonshop.co.uk
On the whole I really like this product. The smell is lovely and reminds me of summers days, it lasts well and it's a fairly cheap even at full price. I would definitely recommend this product and look forward to using more of the Avon room sprays in the future.
